Welcome to the twelfth entry of The Fix’s Fantasy Football Injury Report.  Each week I (@Rich_Migs) will cover several key fantasy football related injuries.  The idea is not to cover every football injury, but instead cover the notable ones that have direct fantasy implications.  As the season continues, the report will address the most recent injuries and their fantasy football related consequences.

I will try to avoid repeating names too often from week to week unless there is news to report.  We are entering Week 11 and if you would like to see the injury list for Week 11, please click here.   You can see all my injury reports (and my other work) by following my archive here

We didn’t run into too many disasters this week, but there are some unknowns that can cause some headaches for owners entering week twelve.

Week Twelve:

Player

Injury

Status/Update

Stock Risers/Fallers

Wes Welker (WR)

Concussion

Questionable for Week 12:

Welker suffered a concussion Sunday night.  Owners will have to wait and see if he gets cleared to play.

Demaryius Thomas (WR). Eric Decker (WR).  If Welker can’t go, that means once less mouth to feed, only increasing Thomas and Decker’s fantasy value.

Jordan Reed (TE)

Concussion

Questionable for Week 12:

Reed suffered a concussion and it is a wait and see game to see if he will play this week.

Robert Griffin III (QB). Pierre Garcon (WR) Griffin could lose a big weapon on a team that doesn’t have too many.  Garcon will get all the targets he can handle if Reed can’t go.

Keenan Allen (WR)

Knee

Probable for Week 12:

Allen appears to have avoided serious injury as Coach Mike McCoy said the talented wide-out will be playing in Week 12.

Phillip Rivers (QB).  Rivers will still have Gates and a decent WR in Vincent Brown, but Allen has been a big part of the offense.  It can’t help if he misses time.

Miles Austin (WR)

Hamstring

Probable for Week 12:

Owner Jerry Jones said Austin is ready to play this week.

Terrance Williams (WR).  It remains to be seen if Austin can stay on the field, but drawing targets away from Williams will likely happen if he does.

Leonard Hankerson (WR)

Knee (LCL)

Questionable for Week 12:

There are murmurs that he may need surgery, which would effectively end his season.  MRI results are still pending.

Robert Griffin III.  Pierre Garcon (WR).  Griffin is potentially losing another weapon this week, and perhaps his number two wide-out, only making things more difficult for him.  Pierre Garcon could again take advantage of the extra targets.

Denarius Moore (WR)

Shoulder

Questionable for Week 12:

Moore underwent a MRI on his shoulder on Monday.

Terrelle Pryor (QB).  Rod Streater (WR). Assuming Pryor is healthy and starting, it wouldn’t be good news if his best receiver misses time.  Streater will pick up extra targets.

Other Injury Related News:

  • Emmanuel Sanders (WR) suffered a foot injury Sunday, but is expected to play this week
  • Pierre Garcon (WR) is expected to play, but mentioned he has been having pain in his ankle.
  • Julius Thomas (WR) apparently has a knee sprain and is day to day.  There is a chance he misses the upcoming game vs. the Patriots.
  • Fred Jackson (RB) re-tweaked his knee and this has been a problem for him the last few weeks.  If C.J. Spiller (RB) can get it together and stay healthy, he could be huge for owners come playoff time.
  • Mike Brown (WR) has an AC sprain and I would consider him doubtful for Week 12.  This can be a multi-week injury for the wide-receiver.
