2015 Fantasy Baseball

Fantasy Baseball Final: April 6, 2015

Welcome to the TheFantasyFix.com’s nightly fantasy baseball recap, where you’ll find updates on bullpen usage, lineup construction, injuries, and transactions. Whether you play season-long or daily fantasy, expect to see the best coverage from every team, every night, all season long.

Baseball is the unofficial start of spring, and most of us can’t wait to get the ball rolling on what should be an exciting 2015 season. To kick off Opening Day, 14 games were scheduled and they did not disappoint.

Let’s take a look at some highlight from today’s action.

IF YOU ONLY READ ONE THING…

Ryan Braun left the top of the sixth with what looks to be a ribcage stain and we be re-evaluated in the coming days. If you’re a Braun owner, this isn’t the way you wanted 2015 to start. A DL stint is highly possible, so start looking for a replacement right fielder.

JUST AS WE EXPECTED…

Felix Hernandez was absolutely great today. The 28-year old picked up his first win of the season going seven scoreless innings allowing one run on two hits while striking out ten. If you paid up for Hernandez in daily fantasy baseball, you got rewarded.

David Price was almost perfect in his first start of the season. The Tennessee native went 8 2/3 scoreless innings allowing no runs on five hits while striking out five. If the Tigers expect to win the AL Central this year, they will need Price to be lights out almost every start and hope his supporting cast can be above average all year long.

BUT WE DIDN’T SEE THIS COMING…

Colorado destroys Milwaukee

Raise your hand if you picked Colorado to blow out Milwaukee at home (* Crickets *)…..that’s what I thought. Kyle Kendrick was great in his first start for the Rockies — pitching seven scoreless innings and striking out six. The Rockies are not a team that will provide stud pitching options all year long, but they did today, and if you went with Kendrick in daily fantasy…..hats off to you my friend.

Drew Hutchison Dominates

Another pitcher that had a great outing today was Drew Hutchison. It’s no easy task going to Yankee Stadium and beating the Yankees at home against their ace Masahrio Tanaka, but that’s exactly what happened. New York managed only three hits on the day and were unable to solve Hutchison all day. It’s a good start for the Jays, but let’s wait and see how their young pitching staff holds up.

Welcome to Boston, Hanley

What a show it was in Boston. Hanley Ramirez made a statement at Fenway today and made it clear he’s worth every penny of his 88 million dollar contract he signed back in November. The 31-year-old finished the day 2-for-5 with two HR and five RBIs and looks ready to help the Red Sox make it back to the playoffs.

Aaron Hill lost his starting 2B job to Chris Owings and will probably be traded before the end of the season. Look for a team like Washington to be in the hunt to add Hill should Anthony Rendon miss an extended period of time.

No mention of the Mets bullpen situation? Carlyle gets the save, but what’s the status of Mejia and who closes if he can’t go, Familia?
