After a smaller and lower scoring 5-game night, we are back to big game Wednesdays. We have 10 games to look at tonight and plenty of talent to choose from on DraftKings. There is a lot of value to be had at every position, so studs will be owned maybe at their highest rate in the last week or so. Let’s take a look at the top 2-3 players at each position tonight.

Point Guard

D.J. Augustin is my favorite value option on the night with his recent production being so high and Kirk Hinrich not making the trip to Cleveland (nobody can blame him for that). Augustin has gone for 40+ in three of the last four games and didn’t start any of them. He’s scoring and adding the other stats averaging 3 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal per game in his last six. Augustin has also thrown up at least 10 shots in each of those six games. With Augustin likely starting tonight, you can almost guarantee 15+ shots tonight.

Michael Carter-Williams had a huge game against the Wizards on Monday and I’m expecting another nice night tonight. Raymond Felton is no match for MCW and his length. Before last game, he was 6 for his last 29 from the field. Those stats obviously won’t cut it, but he turned it around in his last game shooting 13 for 22 from the field. Earlier this season, MCW went for 11/7/7/2 against the Knicks and I see him hitting value on DraftKings for his $7,600 price.

It’s really hard not to love Isaiah Thomas tonight after the way he produced for me last night. Against the Pelicans, Thomas had a monster 20/3/11/3 stat line and went for 47 fantasy points. In two matchups against the Rockets, he is averaging almost a double double with his 18 points and 9 assists in those two games. Thomas at $7,300 is still a great value for him, so take advantage while you can.

Shooting Guard

I wonder when Lance Stephenson’s price will ever get to a valid price because pricing him at under 6k is cheap. Stephenson has been great lately scoring 54 real points and 26 rebounds in his last three games. In those three games, he has put up 38+ fantasy points. Against the Suns and players like Gerald Green and Leandro Barbosa, Stephenson should be able to go for at least another 35 fantasy points tonight.

Patrick Beverley is super value for a starting point guard in a great matchup tonight. He is priced at $3,300 on DraftKings and is going to be pretty highly owned because the Rockets are playing the Kings. He picked up right where he left off as a 20 fantasy point player scoring 26.5 on Monday against the Trail Blazers.

Small Forward

DeMarre Carroll started a little slow in his last game against the Heat, but he came out strong in the second half. He ended with 19 points and 6 rebounds and easily hit value going for 29.5 fantasy points. Orlando is struggling these days and the Hawks will be all over them just like Paul Pierce (small forward) and the Nets were last night. His $3,900 price on DraftKings is a bargain and depending on where you want to go with your high priced players, Carroll could be the guy that helps you do that at other positions.

On the opposite end of the spectrum at this position is Carmelo Anthony. Since taking over as the main player throughout the entire game and playing more power forward than usual, Carmelo has gone off. He has scored 52 points and 32 rebounds in his last two games. His price reflects this, $10,100, but he seems like a lock for 48+ fantasy points against the 76ers. Earlier this season, Carmelo put up 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists in 36 minutes. You can almost guarantee a double double tonight with the matchup he has.

Power Forward

Paul Millsap is a huge play tonight as long as Nikola Vucevic is out again for the Magic. In his last four games, Millsap has gone for 39+ fantasy points in three of them. He has done a little bit of everything recently, but I’m expecting a double double against the big men that the Magic have. Orlando has just gotten beaten up so bad lately to big men like Al Jefferson, Joakim Noah, and even Kris Humphries.

DeMarcus Cousins is a center, but power forward eligible and I love the centers so here we are. Cousins goes up against the Rockets tonight, a team that he is averaging 46 fantasy points against in just 32 minutes of time. In those games, he is pulling down 13 boards while scoring 19 points. In only 29 minutes of time last night, Cousins did everything with a monster stat line of 18/11/6/3/4 and 54.75 fantasy points. Cousins is probably the guy I’m going with the most in terms of high priced players.

Last night I hit the Boston big men jackpot and correctly guessed Kris Humphries to go off for them. He has two straight double doubles, so it’s hard to think that he won’t get starter minutes tonight. He’s got a matchup against the Wizards who are in the bottom half against power forwards and centers. If I decide to spend money on guards, I’ll be considering Humphries pretty heavily, but because I see myself more likely to be spending money on guys at the power forward and center position I will probably have to fade him.

Center

DeAndre Jordan has been an absolute monster lately. He has double digit rebounds in his last ten games, and has gone for 16+ in five of those games. What is making Jordan a huge presence in fantasy lately is that he’s scoring a tad more and maintaining nice block numbers. Well, tonight against the Bobcats, I’m not sure there is anyone really going to be able to stop him. Sure, Al Jefferson will be matched up on him, but he’s not anywhere near the rebounder that Jordan is. Jefferson has been great on the boards recently because of his matchups. I’m loving Jordan’s price of $6,700 on DraftKings tonight.

Andre Drummond is eerily similar to Jordan, but a little bit better on the offense end. The second year player has been a monster on the boards this season (12.6 per game) and goes up against one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks. In Drummond’s last four games, he is averaging 12 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2.5 blocks per game. Against the Bucks I’m expecting a few more rebounds and 40 fantasy points.
