Tuesday’s DFS NBA 1/28

Steph CurryAll hail Kyle Lowry! If you followed my advice, you had a great start on the others that didn’t. He was the top point guard on the night, and was less than Goran Dragic, Michael Carter-Williams, and Isaiah Thomas. Overall, it was a great night for The Fantasy Fix’s NBA article, but nobody cares about that anymore. It’s time to get ready for tonight’s seven game slate. Here are the guys I’m looking at tonight for my NBA lineups on DraftKings.

Point Guard

Victor Oladipo has been a little hit or miss this season, but right now he’s hitting on all cylinders. In his last three games, he has stuffed the stats and been giving great value due to being a tad underpriced. Oladipo is averaging 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals during that stretch. Tonight against the Pistons, I like him to do much of the same. Brandon Jennings and KCP will turn the ball over plenty and could lead to plenty of Oladipo fast break points.

Right now I have Steph Curry plugged in as my highest priced player and with good reason. He’s a shooter that is shooting lights out right now! Curry will always shoot 20+ times and right now that’s great considering he’s made 10+ field goals in four of his last five games. He has also made 22 three pointers in those five games. Somehow with all those shooting going on, Curry has averaged 10 assists per game. A number like that really baffles me, but I love it. Against John Wall and the Wizards, I expect more greatness out of him.

Shooting Guard

Lance Stephenson is probably the only Pacers play I’m touching tonight. Honestly, he’s probably the only player I’m touching in that whole game tonight. Against the Lakers, Stephenson should have another 38+ night, which he has done in five of his last six games. He has four double doubles in those games and has also averaged six assists per game during that stretch. The Lakers pose no threat to slowing him down with guys like Jodie Meeks, Nick Young, and Wes Johnson possibly getting minutes at the two tonight.

Courtney Lee is underpriced on DraftKings as he’s only $3,900 even though he’s gone for 24+ in four straight games. He’s back to shooting well and has 15 real points in each. He hasn’t added a whole lot besides points, so he’s a little risky because of that, but I’m plugging him in for right now. Tony Allen has been out for weeks and there’s no word on if he’ll be back tonight against the Trail Blazers. If Allen remains out then Lee should see 30+ minutes again tonight.

Small Forward

The Gerald Wallace train is one I’m late getting on, but boy am I glad I found it tonight. In his last three games, Wallace has received 41, 29, and 40 minutes. Those big minutes numbers are something I can really dig. He’s priced under 4k, so I’m looking for mid 20s out of him and that’s exactly what he’s done lately. In his last three, he’s put up 23, 24, and 39 fantasy points. Against a team like the Knicks, I’m actually thinking he’ll get to high 20s with their sloppy ball handling and style of play.

Terrence Jones has seen his priced drop almost 1.5k on DraftKings all the way down to $4,700. At that price, he’s too tempting to pass up with what he has done this month. I know he’s scored only 38 total fantasy points in his last two games, but he hasn’t broken 30 minutes. Hopefully because the Rockets have had some days off between games (last game was the 25th) that means that Jones will get more action tonight against the Spurs.

Power Forward

Tim Duncan has been great against the Rockets and honestly is a great fantasy threat every night out that he gets 30+ minutes. Against the Rockets in two games, he averaged 33 minutes and 46 fantasy points. He played well against the Heat in his last game, but the Spurs got blown out and he only played 24 minutes. I expect the Spurs to want to come out strong against the Rockets and give Duncan those 30+ minutes he needs to really be a force for us fantasy owners.

Tobias Harris really intrigues me tonight against the Pistons. He played well against them earlier this season going for 16 and 10 for 37 fantasy points. I think he could do that again tonight with the way the Pistons big men play defense. Harris is a rebounding machine right now (41 rebounds in his last three games) and is putting up points as well (64 in his last three). I think for $6,600 he’s a solid “last man entered” kind of player.

Center

Nene Hilario certainly should be considered against a group of Golden State big men that aren’t the best. Nene had 23 fantasy points in 25 minutes against them earlier this season, so he played fairly well in a smaller stretch of time. Recently, Nene has averaged 32 minutes per game and could mean bigger things for him tonight. He hasn’t had a double double in a while, but he has three straight games of 17+ points and his price under 6k.

Andre Drummond is one of the scariest plays of the day for me. He has a great matchup tonight against the Magic, but he is also coming off a benching from his coach in the second half of his last game. The guy is a monster on the court, but fouls and now this issue with his coach has taken away from fantasy owners. Do not come back at me if he doesn’t play well due to minutes because you have been warned! I list him here as purely a GPP play because of his huge potential in his matchup against the Magic.
