The Mets almost blew a 9-3 lead, but held on to complete their sweep of the Reds. Carlos Beltran on the other hand went 0-4 with 2 strikeouts in his first game as a Giant. The Giants beat the Phils anyway behind Tim Lincecum’s shutout ball through 6 innings.

Colby Rasmus didn’t fare well either in his first game as a Jay. He went 0-5 with 2 strikeouts.

Bad news for Rickie Weeks owners. Different sources have his rehab time anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

Mike Stanton hit his 4th moon shot in the last 7 games. Teammate Emilio Bonifacio extended his hitting streak to 26 games and also stole his 24th base.

ESPN's Adam Schechter said on The Mike&Mike Show that he believes Hunter Pence will be dealt in the next 48 hours.

Led by Mark Trumbo, the Angels beat the Tigers 12-7. Trumbo was a lousy single shy of the cycle and hit his 19th home run of the year.

Dustin Pedroia extended his hitting streak as well with a solo bomb in the 8th. He is one behind Bonifacio at 25. Boston lost to the Royals and the Yankees now stand 2.5 games back.

Heath Bell, Joel Hanrahan & John Axford each notched their 30th saves of the year.

Superstud, Desmond Jennings continues to demolish anything that stands in his way. Against Oakland, Jennings went 3-4 with a HR, SB, 4 RBI & 2 Runs. Through his first 6 games he is hitting a nice even .500.

Justin Upton kept up his hot streak with a double and stolen base. Brother BJ Upton homered for the first time since 13 games ago.

In Vlad Guerrero’s 2nd game back off the DL, he homered and stole a base. It will be interesting to see how he finishes up the year. Hot streak coming??

Scott Baker (7 IP, 2 ER) was outdueled by Matt Harrison (7.1 IP, 1 ER). Baker still has an ERA under 3.00.

Two matchups I will be keeping an eye on today are Matt Garza @Edwin Jackson & Francisco Liriano @Gio Gonzalez.  This will be Jackson's first start as a Cardinal. Also hurling today is Roy Halladay, Alexi Ogando, Ryan Vogelsong, & Brandon Beachy. Today marks the return of Chien-Ming Wang who will start for the Nationals against Dillon Gee and the Mets. It is his first game since July 2009.
