2013 Fantasy Football, Week Ten IDP Waiver Wire

We put week 9 in the books of the 2013 NFL Season and welcome in week 10; but before I continue have we survived the week 8 & 9 bye week nightmare? Where your starting line-ups not something you’re proud of? Let’s just say I barely made it through as well but luckily didn’t have to drop none of my IDP studs to fill in for the bye weeks (built depth).  Now’s the time though if you’re a contender and especially if it’s a redraft league, trade your depth for quality starters and get ready for your title run and also if you’re in a dynasty league I’d recommend trading your top scoring veterans (Daryl Smith, Karlos Dansby) to a contending team and see if you can buy low on Bobby Wagner, Luke Kuechly, Wesley Woodyard, Von Miller type LB’s so you’ll be off to a good start enter next season.  I’d also like to welcome back Aldon Smith in week 10, he should be a menace against the Panthers and luckily for Newton he can run.  I have a list of some IDP waiver wire pick-ups for those suffering bye week blues, lets see it shall we?

  • PAUL WORRILOW (LB) Falcons:  racked up a bunch of tackles against the Panthers in week 9, looks locked in and ready to continue on ROS.  Weatherspoon may or may not be back in a couple weeks but regardless, Worrilow is earning his snaps and has outplayed all other ATL LB’s.  If you need a bye week filler, grab Worrilow or if you have an under achiever I’d take a look at Worrilow as he should continue to thrive in tackles.
  • KENDALL LANGFORD (DL) Rams:  had a solid game against the Titans (2 sacks) and should continue to rack up a handful of tackles going forward.  This has to be the year of defensive tackles because week in week out a few are putting up points i thought Nick Fairley would do (but he’s not).  If you have a solid DL1 and streaming at the DL2 spot then i’d definitely take a look at Langford for a spot start.
  • SIO MOORE (LB) Raiders:  has been impressive the past few weeks as he continues to get snaps in, the Raiders defense needs playmakers and that’s what Moore can do from the OLB position.  He’ll get to the QB (has 3 sacks on the season) and shall continue to rise up in IDP world.  If you have solid LB’s who rack up tackles then Moore is worth a flier for the sacks and big play ability.
  • WALLACE GILBERRY (DL) Bengals:  i mentioned Gilberry a couple weeks ago and he continues to flourish in limited role, but now with Atkins out this is where the Bengals depth takes advantage and Gilberry could see an increase in playing time.  He should be a lock for at least 1 sack and a few tackles definitely worth a DL2 flier in week 10 and rest of season.
  • COLIN MCCARTHY (LB) Titans:  mentioned McCarthy when Fokou went down and wasn’t playing, looks like he’s earned his position back (don’t hold your breath though) but even if Fokou is coming back I think McCarthy gets majority of snaps because of his play.  Has some value and sneaky LB play ROS as he’ll be a decent LB3 with LB2 upside.
  • STEPHON GILMORE (DB) Bills:  looks like he’s picked up his play recently and it shall continue, if he’s still available in your league i’d grab him as a DB2 because he’s a legit corner and second, the Bills defense will see the field a lot from here on out.  A handful of tackles and a couple pass deflections will do the job, he’ll get his INT’s soon too.
  • JOE VELLANO (DL) Patriots:  another Patriots rookie racking up tackles in the interior, if you need a spot start for week 10 and you have slim pickin’s available in your league, take a look at Vellano but thing with him is if your league doesn’t score assisted tackles then Vellano isn’t your guy because he has more assisted tackles than solo tackles on the season and a small contributor in other categories.
  • BRADLEY FLETCHER (DB) Eagles:  has been a solid DB the past few weeks and I even mentioned he’d be the PHI DB you’d want this season (slow start and injured early on) but his play has definitely been solid lately and I’d grab him as your DB2.
  • TERRELL THOMAS (DB) Giants:  is he finally healthy? he’s looking like it and prior to his injuries he was a DB1.  He’s been slept on this season (because of his injuries) but for the rest of the season he makes a strong case for DB2 and possibly flirting with DB1 numbers as he’ll come close to 10+ tackles just about every game, he has a knack for the ball.

I’ve also done my IDP Only Re-Draft on my site, where I took the order of the NFL draft (with no trades) and inserted IDP’s only so can you imagine if Kiko Alonso wore a Chiefs jersey instead? Mathieu creating turnovers for the Eagles? Take a look at that when you get a chance and as always feel free to reach out to me via twitter @IDPwithBEE_DSE and stay tuned for my weekly rankings.

Aloha
