Fantasy Football 2011 Tight End Rankings Week 3: Big Game From Gronkowski?

Picture

1) ANTONIO GATES (KC #30 ranked D)- Gates faces the league's worst defense and a defense that he has scored twelve career touchdowns against. New England limited him last week but that will not happen again. He is a lock for one touchdown this week at the least.

2) JASON WITTEN (WASH # 19 ranked D)- Witten is as reliable as they come and with the current injuries to Cowboy's receivers he should be looked upon heavily in the Dallas offense this week. He has gone over 100 yards receiving in the first two weeks and will look to continue that against a Redskin defense he has had success against in the past.

3) ROB GRONKOWSKI (BUF # 4 ranked D)- Rob gets a major boost here with the loss of fellow teammate Aaron Hernandez for 4-6 weeks. Currently he leads all TE's with three touchdown receptions. This game figures to be a shoot out so I expect big numbers from him this weekend.

4) JERMICHAEL FINLEY (@CHI # 15 ranked D)- Lingering ankle problems have limited Finley a bit in his first two contests. He along with Greg Jennings remain the two top targets in one of the league's most prolific offenses. He is a must start every week.

5) JIMMY GRAHAM (HOU # 3 ranked D)- Graham had another good week with a six catch, 79 yard effort. This game could get into a shoot out very quickly only making Graham that much better of an option this week.

6) VERNON DAVIS (@CIN # 24 ranked D)- Davis spent most of last week blocking Mr .Ware of Dallas and really didn't factor in the game at all. This week he looks to get on track against a week Bengals defense.

7) FRED DAVIS (@DAL # 28 ranked D)- Davis has been a pleasant surprise and the most added TE in many leagues this year as owners have struggled with sleeper picks Jared Cook, Brandon Pettigrew etc on their rosters. The Cowboys have been tough against TE's this year but Fred should fair well in this game.

8) OWEN DANIELS (@NO # 5 ranked D)- Daniels scored his first TD of the year last week and remains the number two target for QB Matt Schaub in the potent Texan offense. This game has shoot out written all over it. Look for Daniels to put up solid numbers once again.

9) DUSTIN KELLER ( @OAK # 11 ranked D)- Keller leads the Jets with 11 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns. He is also tied for the team lead in targets with 14. He is becoming a Tier 1 TE and a must play each week.

10) GREG OLSEN (JAX # 22 ranked D)- Olsen has been active on offense but not as much as we would like to see. I have a feeling this is the week he breaks the goal line and puts up some good yardage numbers. Going with the gut on this one.

11) KELLEN WINSLOW ( ATL # 14 ranked D)- Winslow was targeted eight times last week by QB Josh Freeman but he only totaled four catches for the game. He remains the security blanket for the young QB but he is not receiving many red zone looks.

12) TONY GONZALEZ (@TB # 20 ranked D)- Gonzalez had a big second half last week against the Eagles scoring two TD's in the contest. Tony has 155 yards receiving to go along with his two TD's. Julio Jones has opened up the middle of the field now for Gonzo and he is taking advantage big time.

13) EVAN MOORE
14) SCOTT CHANDLER
15) BEN WATSON
16) DALLAS CLARK
17) JERMAINE GRESHAM
18) BRENT CELEK
19) ZACH MILLER
20) LANCE KENDRICKS
21) TODD HEAP
22) MARCEDES LEWIS
23) ED DICKSON
24) BRANDON PETTIGREW
