Fantasy Hockey Daily Fix, March 1st

Hockey is finally back, and we had some absolutely crazy results when main action opened on Thursday night. Teams looked flat, while others looked surprisingly focused. We are in the battle days of March, where all teams are now going to ramp up their play as the playoff races grow tighter.

Let’s look at some of the players and teams I like for today.

Line Combos I Like:

In my cash games, I want exposure to a pretty substantial lot of lines.

The top lines to consider today are:

1) Boston #2 line: Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – Reilly Smith

2) Montreal #1 line: Max Pacioretty – David Desharnais – Brendan Gallagher

3) Columbus #1 line:  Boone Jenner – Ryan Johansen – Nathan Horton

4) Winnipeg #2 line: Evander Kane – Mark Scheifele – Blake Wheeler

5) Boston #1 line: Milan Lucic – David Krejci – Jarome Iginla

6) New York Rangers #1 line: Chris Kreider – Derek Stepan – Rick Nash

7) Pittsburgh Penguins #2 line: James Neal – Evgeni Malkin – Jussi Jokinen

Top Defenseman:

1) P.K. Subban ($5,300)

2) Zdeno Chara ($5,500)

3) Mark Giordano ($5,500)

4) Victor Hedman ($5,100)

5) James Wisniewski ($4,000)

6) Jacob Trouba (3,400)

I would pay for defense today.

Top Goalie plays:

1) Jonathan Quick – $7,500

2) Sergei Bobrovsky – $8,800

Cash Game Lineup:

C- Ryan Johansen

LW- Max Pacioretty

RW- Cam Atkinson

D- James Wisniewski

D- Jacob Trouba

G- Jonathan Quick

UTIL- Ryan Callahan

UTIL- Evgeni Malkin
