2013 Fantasy Baseball Daily Fix: July 27th 2013:

Daily Fantasy Baseball Fix

Today I will be playing the Daily Dollar (great for beginners) If you are new to @DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball, you can claim your Deposit Bonus here!

There are scattered showers and isolated thunder-storms across baseball today at a 30-40 percent rate. The games with these conditions are: STL @ ATL, NYM @ WSH, and MIL @ COL. I would advise avoiding pitchers in those games if you can, simply because in Daily Fantasy we must avoid zeroes at all cost from our pitchers.

However, there are a couple of games with more severe rain chances. These games have a heavier risk of postponement. They carry 50-60 percent chance of rain with thunderstorms as well. These games are: BOS @ BAL, and TEX @ CLE. The Red Sox vs. Orioles game is has a much higher likelihood of being postponed since they are division rivals that are extremely close to one another in proximity. Texas and Cleveland hail from separate divisions so there might be more urgency to get the game in. I would sit all pitchers in both of these games, but I would also sit hitters in the Boston @ Baltimore game.

Today I’m going to have a very heavy pitching strategy, to build an excellent base of about 50-60 points. Then I will hope that my hitting can combine for around 40 points I need to get me in the top region of the pay scale for the daily dollar. I am going to pick a bit on Raul Valdes who is pitching for the Phillies.

Here is my roster:

Pitcher: Chris Sale | CWS | vs. KC | $11,500:

Pitcher: Madison Bumgarner | SF | vs. ChC | $11,100

Catcher: Russell Martin | PIT | @ MIA | $4,800

First Base: Victor Martinez | DET | vs. PHI | $3,500

Second Base: Placido Polanco | MIA | vs. PIT | $2,800

Third Base: Matt Tuiasisopo | DET | vs. PHI | $2,900

Shorstop: Jhonny Peralta | DET | vs. PHI | $3,600

Outfield: Christian Yelich | MIA | vs. PIT | $3,500

Outfield Jeff Francouer | SF | vs. ChC | $3,500

Outfield: Henry Urrutia | BAL | vs. BOS | $2,700 – I’m taking one risk on rain here.

For people that don’t want to go with such a heavy pitching strategy, some other good picks are..

Jonathan Lucroy – Catcher – $5,500 and all other Brewers against Colorado starter Colin McHugh.

Also, picking on Cubs left hander Chris Rusin, and Arizona starter Tyler Skaggs, are smart plays. Going with any San Francisco Giant or San Diego Padre is sure to turn a profit.
