2013 Fantasy Baseball, The Daily Fix: September 3rd, 2013

Die hard baseball fans are still with us and are excited to see a long list of prospects make their September debuts. Unfortunately, the list is a bit short at the beginning of the month. The AAA season hasn’t officially ended yet and some highly thought of prospects are going to be saved for the postseason at their location. Still there are a few guys that have gotten the call and they should be impact players down the stretch for their clubs. Full season fantasy leagues will all move into the playoffs next week if they haven’t gotten there yet. It might be difficult to trust these new callups during the playoffs, but in daily fantasy baseball, it pays to keep an eye on them.

Billy Hamilton is probably the biggest name to consider these days. He stole 75 bases in AAA this season in spite of a .308 OBP in Louisville. The Reds may not be playing him regularly, but he definitely will get some starts and if he does he could be a nice low cost option in the outfield. To this point, there is no one else that appears to be an impact bat, but there could be some decent arms.

Of course, new strategies could impact a number of young arms that are already on the big league level. Some organizations do not want their young starters throwing 200 innings their first season out of the gate, so some of them will be on schedule to be shut down mid month. This will definitely thin out the depth down the road, but today’s lineup has the same heavy hitters and pitchers that we normally have to choose from. However, keep your eye on the transactions wire because more and more players will get the call when the minor league playoffs end in another week or so.

Today, I’m playing in a Double Up! contest again. They range anywhere from a dollar to over 100 dollars, but each works the same way. If you finish in the top half you get almost twice as much as you put in. Naturally, DraftKings gets their cut because they have to pay their employees, the light bill, and make a little for their trouble. That being said, they are very generous to those that start playing as they will give you a deposit bonus you can access here.

Not the best player available, but probably the best for the price.

The top second baseman on the board on this night.

Evan Longoria

I still haven’t figured out why he isn’t going for at least 4000.
SS

Jed Lowrie

He had a swoon in the middle of the season, but he seems to be picking it up again.
OF

Andrew McCutchen

5,000

9.4

The Pirates are beginning their push for the first postseason berth since George Bush 41.
OF

Jacoby Ellsbury

Curtis Granderson

3,600

7.6

Players coming off of injuries are usually undervalued until they prove themselves.
P

Hiroki Kuroda

7,400

He plays up on this night as the White Sox are one of the weaker teams in the league.

Arguably the frontrunner for the Cy Young award offers Ks and a good chance to win each time out.

I do believe all the ideas you’ve introduced to your post.

They are really convincing and will certainly work.

Nonetheless, the posts are too quick for beginners.

May you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time?
    Thanks for the post.
