Is it just me or has this season gone by faster than ever before? Just me? Okay! As we enter into the sevent week of the NFL season the pressure is starting to set in. If you aren’t at least 2 – 4 with only about seven weeks left in the fantasy regular season, you are going to be in an extremely tough place as the weeks progress.

There is no time like now to make sure the right moves are made on your teams, specifically as the bigger bye weeks – Weeks 9 through 11 where half the league goes on bye – start to creep up on you. The players you look at today will help you in a few weeks.

With only the Eagles and Buccaneers on the bye week this week, there isn’t a lot that will be missing, but with guys like Nick Foles, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans sitting this week due to the bye there are certainly a few playmakers that can undoubtedly be missing from your roster.

As always, check out these players that shockingly are still owned in less than 25% of ESPN leagues. For those of you not in ESPN leagues, I’ve included their ownership percentages in Yahoo and NFL leagues in that order.

Brian Hoyer (CLE): I talked about Hoyer (7.2 | 12 | 5.3) a few weeks ago and it seems as if many have decided to ignore my recommendations. Hoyer is currently averaging over 16 points per game in his last three games including 21 points two weeks ago against the Titans. Hoyer has been quietly consistent throwing for at least one touchdown in each of his five starts so far, while throwing for at least 230 yards in three of those contests.

Week 7 is going to be favorable for the ex-protege of Tom Brady as the Browns head to Jacksonville to take on arguably the worst passing defense in the league. Sure, the Jags are only ranked 28th in the league against opposing QBs, but they have given up at least 320 yards passing three times this season, and in their first four games they gave up a total of 11 passing touchdowns. With more consistent time with his wideouts and familiarity in the new Browns offense, Hoyer and company should do what Charlie Whitehurst tried and failed to do last week against this same defense. With Nick Foles on a bye, look for Hoyer to help pick you up in a time of need.

Derek Carr (OAK): Carr (2 | 5 | 3.2) started his NFL career off fairly strong throwing for 29 total fantasy points in the first two weeks combined. Carr showed elusiveness and an ability to gain yards with his feet while whipping the ball through the air for either two passing touchdowns or 250 yards passing through Weeks 1 and 2. However, tough match ups against the Patriots and Dolphins in back-to-back games set him back a bit on most radars. After getting injured during the game against the Dolphins, many thought it would be the end of his growth at such a young stage. Nevertheless, a perfectly timed bye week helped the rookie QB come back with a bang throwing for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns against a fairly decent Chargers defense that is currently ranked 11th against the pass.

This week Carr has a significantly more favorable match up than the one he faced last week when the Raiders host the Cardinals. The Cards are currently ranked 27th against the pass despite having ball-hawking corners Antonio Cromartie and Patrick Peterson roaming the air space. The Cardinals have given up at least 16 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks three games in a row, including more than 800 passing yards and six TDs in their last two. Carr is another player that could fill in for the Foles bye week.

Benjamin Cunningham (STL): For six weeks now we have been waiting for the 2013 version of Zac Stacy to return, but that just hasn’t happened. Granted some of that is due to a lingering injury, but Jeff Fisher went to more of a community type backfield this past Monday. Cunningham received the rushing touchdown last and not Stacy who was active or Tre Mason who gained the most yards of the three backs.  Both Mason and Cunningham are owned in less than 3% of fantasy leagues, so in a major pinch either could help if you are missing McCoy, Darren Sproles or Doug Martin on the bye. Cunningham (1.8 | 13 | 1.4) touched the ball nine times for 33 yards and a score on Monday against the 49ers and has now found the end zone in his second consecutive game.

Despite the Rams heading into a matchup against the fairly angry Legion of Boom defense of Seattle, the Rams and Cunningham have a decent match up as the LOB has given up the 19th most fantasy points to opposing running backs, including 136 yards and a touchdown to DeMarco Murray on Sunday. The Seahawks are out for blood and deservedly so, however, if Austin Davis can get back to his consistent ways and move the ball down the field, it’s safe to say that Benji will be the one who gets the looks at the goal line.

Isaiah Crowell (CLE): Many people thought that when Ben Tate came back two weeks ago that Crowell (17 | 25 | 12.4) would be the one to take the backseat and not Terrance West. After the Browns Week 5 game against the Titans it looked like they both would take the backseat. However, Crowell gained 77 yards on just 11 carries last week, which is one yard less than what Tate gained on 25 carries. Although Tate found the end zone twice this past Sunday, Crowell did cross the goal line once, even though a fumble almost cost him his opportunities.

Not only are the Jaguars atrocious at stopping the pass as we mentioned earlier, they are even worse at stopping the run, giving up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Of the six games the Jaguars have played, they have given up either 110 yards or a touchdown on the ground in all but one game. That was against the Chargers who still managed to rack up 17 points by completing eight passes for 68 yards to their backs.

Andre Holmes (OAK): I guess this is going to be the Browns and Raiders week as we have already talked about two Browns players and this is the second Raider. Holmes (6.6 | 20 | 5.3) has come on strong as of late with nine catches on 20 targets with three touchdowns in the previous two weeks. A third year player out of Hillsdale College, Holmes started his career in Dallas before moving to Oakland last season and has already surpassed more than half of his total number of receptions, targets &andyards through four games this season than he had in his entire career.

The Raiders have had James Jones to be that change of pace, consistent receiver when needed, but they always needed that reliable deep threat and many believe they have found it in Holmes. The Cardinals have given up the most points to opposing wide receivers this season with at least 26 fantasy points to wideouts in each game so far including nearly 600 yards and four touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. Grab him and stash him away for when bye weeks begin to get a bit heavy.

Allen Robinson (JAC): On the other side of the field in the Browns-Jags match up, sits Robinson with a pretty consistent showing in his rookie season. A second round pick by the Jags in the 2014 draft, Robinson (1.3 | 13 | 0.4) has had at least double-digit fantasy points in all but two games this year, and in one game he missed that mark by only two points. Robinson has been a go-to-guy for Blake Bortles, grabbing 25 receptions in the last four games with at least 51 yards in three of those contests.

Although the Jags can’t help themselves to stop opposing offenses with much of any success, the Browns are also susceptible to giving up a few points to wide receivers and are currently ranked 19th in the league against them. In the past two games, wideouts for both the Titans and Steelers racked up 14 receptions each and at least 186 yards with Titans pass catchers also finding the end zone three times. Bortles has been fairly consistent in his rookie season and should continue that against a defense with plenty of holes in the passing game. Look for Robinson to continue to be that comfort blanket for him in Week 7.

There may only be a few teams on bye this week, but with the biggest section of the bye weeks yet to come, it is imperative that you make some moves now to solidify your rosters during the toughest stretch of the season. The players above can certainly set you up for success as the weeks go on.
