Daily Fantasy Hockey: DraftKings Value Picks, December 11th

Christopher Morais

The Fix always has a full breakdown of significant NHL slates for our Front Office subscribers, but now we’re also going to be highlighting a few value plays for everyone on most days with big NHL slates. Below you’ll find three or four players who are cheap and undervalued in today’s DraftKings contests.

If you’d like to read our full breakdown of tonight’s slate, complete with player rankings, you can become a Front Office member or purchase today’s breakdown individually

Valeri Nichushkin—Dallas Stars–$3500

Valeri Nichushkin made a splash in his first game on the top line, notching a goal and two assists. Even after that breakout, his salary remains unchanged. I’m going back to the well with Nichushkin and plugging him into almost every line up I play tonight. The kid has a ton of skill and he finally gets to showcase it. His salary relief and high upside making him the perfect play for tonight’s slate. Don’t fade him!

Viktor Tikhonov—Arizona Coyotes–$2500

With so many high priced superstars playing tonight, you’re going to need to find some value plays. Tikhonov is the best minimum price player out there, by a mile. With Martin Hanzal listed as day-to-day, the rookie is expected to skate on a line with Max Domi and Mikkel Boedker. He hasn’t recorded a point so far this season, but he’s getting the chance to show what he can do at the big league level. He probably won’t win you a GPP, but he certainly won’t lose it for you. Plug Tikhonov in and hope for some magic on the score sheet.

Rickard Rakell—Anaheim Ducks–$3700

Rickard Rakell falls into the same category as Nichushkin—a young talented player getting the chance to play with the team’s best players. The 22-year-old is skating on a line with Corey Perry and captain Ryan Getzlaf and is producing at a fairly decent pace. He has 12 points (6G, 6A) in 25 games so far this season with 53 shots on goal. As long as Rakell is playing on the top line, he will be a fantasy option every time the Ducks are in action. He may not pick up a point every game, but if continues to get chances, he will start putting up points in bunches.
