Big Games

My favorite game of the day has to be the Toronto Maple Leafs @ Anaheim Ducks. This game contains lots of fantasy goodness. I am starting Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Cam Fowler across the board tonight. When Fowler is too expensive to fit into my lineup, I also like Hampus Lindholm as a play, especially on Draft Kings where his price is just $2,700. My sneaky punt play from this game is 4th liner Patrick Maroon. He’s min-price on Draft Kings at $2,500 and $3,300 (near min-price) on Fan Duel.

The second game I’m targeting today is without question the Columbus Blue Jackets @ Dallas Stars. I’m all in on Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn once again, and they are both plug and plays across the industry tonight. On Fan Duel, when I can, I’m rolling right winger Rich Peverley into my lineup, but at $3,800 I prefer another option (whom I will get to later). Also, Tim Thomas is a reasonable goalie start from this game, and defensemen Jordie Benn and Alex Goligoski are nice options as well. The Blue Jackets are rolling out Curtis McElhinney so that’s why I’m all in on Dallas tonight.

The Washington Capitals host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, in what is sure to be the most over-targeted game — especially on sites like Fan Duel where plus-minus counts. It’s not that I don’t like the options from this game, because there are plenty of them. It’s just hard to pinpoint where the production will come from for Pittsburgh. James Neal and Evgeni Malkin will see the Alex Ovechkin line most likely, and on Fan Duel I’m not sure I like the idea of rolling any of them out, because neither line plays any defense whatsoever, so the minuses might start to cancel out any point production they give you. If I were to choose a player from this game, it would probably be Sidney Crosby, of course, but I might also be willing to roster Matt Niskanen or Olli Maatta. On a night where the Tyler Seguin and Ryan Getzlaf lines aren’t in must-play matchups, I’d be throwing a lot of money at this game, but I just think there are better options tonight.

Sneaky Plays from Various Games:

I like Ales Hemsky a lot for Ottawa tonight. He’s near-min price everywhere across the industry tonight.

Colin McDonald of the New York Islanders is a sneaky play tonight against a Vancouver team that lacks depth. He’s min-priced across the industry, and is white-hot having recorded a point in his last three games.

David Booth is min-price across the industry, and he’s seeing decent minutes for Vancouver with recently acquired Shawn Matthias.

My Lineup:

C Ryan Getzlaf Tor@Anh $7,900 swap out
LW Jamie Benn Cls@Dal $7,100 swap out
RW Corey Perry Tor@Anh $8,000 swap out
D Jordie Benn Cls@Dal $2,500 swap out
D Cam Fowler Tor@Anh $4,400 swap out
G Eddie Lack NYI@Van $6,100 swap out
UTIL Patrick Maroon Tor@Anh $2,500 swap out
UTIL Colin McDonald NYI@Van $2,700 swap out
UTIL Tyler Seguin Cls@Dal $8,600 swap out
