2014 Fantasy Baseball: The Fix DL Report – Week Eighteen
Welcome to the eighteenth week of the Fix DL Report. Each week I (@Rich_Migs) will cover significant fantasy baseball injuries. As the season continues, the report will address some of the most recent injuries and their fantasy implications.
OUT FOR THE SEASON: Patrick Corbin, Brandon Beachy, Kris Medlen, Jarrod Parker, Cory Luebke, Bruce Rondon, Bobby Parnell, Jameson Taillon, Avisail Garcia, Matt Moore, Maicer Izturis, Ivan Nova, A.J. Griffin, Jose Fernandez, Martin Perez, Prince Fielder, Chris Withrow, Gavin Floyd, C.C. Sabathia, Bronson Arroyo, Matt Cain
(Due to last week’s absence of the DL report, I will include some guys from the week prior.
PLAYERS TO WATCH (Not on DL/DL Updates): Matt Cain (elbow), Troy Tulowitzki (leg/hip), Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring), Coco Crisp (neck), Jason Heyward (back), Carlos Gonzalez (ankle), Josh Hamilton (finger), Yasiel Puig (hamstring), Adrian Gonzalez (knee), Khris Davis (calf), Scooter Gennett (finger), Chris Dickerson (knee), Jon Jay (wrist), Yasmani Grandal (knee),
Cain is expected to undergo season-ending surgery for bone chips in his elbow.
It sounds as if Tulo is looking into surgery as a possible option, but everything is up in there air right now about his return.
Zimmerman has a severe hamstring strain and is likely out through August and perhaps longer.
Crisp and Heyward should avoid the disabled list, but Crisp’s injure seems to be the more severe of the two and isn’t out of the woods yet.
In a day where many are looking at Paul George and his devastating injury, the world of baseball has been hit yet again these past couple of weeks with some of their own. Down are Matt Cain, Troy Tulowitzki, and once again, Cliff Lee.
Here was no week seventeen DL report. I will be doing my best to avoid too much repetition each week, so be sure to refer back to the past DL reports to keep track of all the injuries. Let’s take a look at some of the key fantasy players on the disabled list entering the week.
