2014 Fantasy Football: Week 15 Defense Streaming Options
As the playoffs have begun in what should be all leagues I’ll only be listing defense/special teams streaming options as opposed to defense and quarterback options. If you need any advice on quarterback options hit us up on Twitter @TheFantasyFix and @44AMiller or peruse any of the great articles here at the site.
New York Giants – (44% owned ESPN, 40% owned Yahoo!) – vs. Washington – In the last five weeks Washington has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing defenses – and it hasn’t been close. The Giants have had two of their three best performances of the season in their last two games, racking up seven and eight sacks, respectively, in those two games. Washington has surrendered six sacks a game in its last four games, and it’s scored less than 12 points per game in that stretch.
New York Jets – at Tennessee – Tennessee has been the second-friendliest team to defenses fantasy-wise in the last five weeks, giving up 2.6 turnovers and over four sacks a game. The Jets have had three of their five best scoring days in their last four games. It looks like Jake Locker will start Sunday, but he threw two interceptions on only 12 attempts last week – and he has 10 combined interceptions and fumbles this season in three full games and parts of three others.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – at Carolina – Tampa has been the 12th-best fantasy defense in the last five weeks, while Carolina is allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to defenses in the last five weeks. Derek Anderson is starting for the Panthers Sunday, and that’s good news for the Bucs, who have 16 sacks and five picks in their last five games.
Carolina Panthers – vs. Tampa Bay – The Panthers have been ridiculously inconsistent this year, but when they’ve played well – at least fantasy-wise – on defense they’ve played really well. They did just dominate the Saints in New Orleans, so the meh Bucs offense isn’t too scary. The Bucs have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to defenses in the last five weeks, averaging less than 18 points a game. On average in their last five games the Bucs have given up an interception and fumble a week as well as over three sacks a contest.
