2013 Fantasy Baseball, The Daily Fix: September 5th, 2013

Daily Fantasy Baseball Fix

It’s the Thursday schedule once again. There are only seven games on the docket, so the options are limited for everyone playing. Fortunately, there isn’t a shortage of good starting pitchers available. Of the fourteen starters, six have ERAs under 4.00. In addition to that, several more have ERAs under 4.50. So, it should be a decent day for everyone playing. While most of the sporting world might be focusing on the opening of the NFL season, there is still good money to be made playing daily fantasy baseball.

Today, I’m playing in a Double Up! contest again. They range anywhere from a dollar to over 100 dollars, but each works the same way. If you finish in the top half you get almost twice as much as you put in. Naturally, DraftKings gets their cut because they have to pay their employees, the light bill, and make a little for their trouble. That being said, they are very generous to those that start playing as they will give you a deposit bonus you can access here.

My Lineup

Salary

FPPG

Notes
Jarrod Saltalamacchia

3,100

6.93

For this price you are getting middle of the road production at the catcher position.
1B  Adam Dunn

3,900

7.50

He’s reached 30 home runs for the tenth time in his career.
2B  Brian Roberts

3,300

5.95

He’s somehow reached 31 RBIs in the span of 200 plate appearances. Kind of sneaky.
3B  Alex Rodriguez

3,700

7.46

I don’t like him anymore than you, but he is under 4000 dollars and that’s a bargain.
SS  Jonathan Villar

2,300

6.50

Watch the lineups carefully. He’s been banged up lately, but if in the lineup it’s a smart play.
OF  Adam Jones

5,000

9.05

He’s on pace for more than 30 home runs and 120 RBIs.
OF  Jay Bruce

4,100

8.28

I wouldn’t call him a superstar, but he is a cut under and flying under the radar.
OF  Mike Trout

5,300

11.07

Again, he is in a debate about who should be the MVP in the AL.
Sonny Gray

10,000

17.11

He is facing the Astros who have sewn up the AL strikeout record.
Jake Peavy

8,600

17.70

He has been very good since the trade to the Red Sox.
