2013 Fantasy Football: The Fix’s Week 10 Injury Report
Welcome to the tenth entry of The Fix’s Fantasy Football Injury Report. Each week I (@Rich_Migs) will cover several key fantasy football related injuries. The idea is not to cover every football injury, but instead cover the notable ones that have direct fantasy implications. As the season continues, the report will address the most recent injuries and their fantasy football related consequences.
I will try to avoid repeating names too often from week to week unless there is news to report. We are entering Week 10 and if you would like to see the injury list for Week 9, please click here. You can see all my injury reports (and my other work) by following my archive here.
We potentially have another big loss on the season at the QB position to go along with some other black and blues. Let’s get to it.
Week Ten:
Player |
Injury |
Status/Update |
Stock Risers/Fallers |
Aaron Rodgers (QB) |
Left Shoulder/Collarbone |
Out for Week 10: There is a lot of unknown surrounding this injury and more tests have to be run. What we do know is Rodgers is believed to have a small fracture in his his collarbone. The injury is to his non-throwing shoulder, but he should miss at least a few weeks. It is a devastating blow to fantasy owners and the Packers. |
Jordy Nelson (WR). James Jones (WR). Jarret Boykin (WR). Eddie Lacy (RB). This can get bad for fantasy owners very quickly. Personally, I am of the belief that even though Eddie Lacy could struggle if Rodgers is out long-term, even if he gets the rock a ton. I acknowledge that he will be leaned on heavily with Rodgers out, so his green light is justified. But fact is, the Packers will see a lot less scoring opportunities with Seneca Wallace running the show, and that’s not good for anybody. |
Terrelle Pryor (QB) |
Knee |
Probable for Week 10: Pryor gave owners and the Raiders a scare this week, but it looks like he will be fine moving forward. If Pryor gets in a practice Wednesday, it will be all that more likely he plays Sunday. |
Denarius Moore (WR). Rod Streater (WR). If Pryor misses any time, you can downgrade the entire offense. Moore has been a WR3, but the already inconsistent receiver would likely be that much more inconsistent if Pryor is out. |
Darren McFadden (RB) |
Hamstring |
Doubtful for Week 10: Frustrating is a word that comes to mind for those who own DMC. He simply can’t stay healthy and he reinjured the same hamstring from earlier in the season. All things considered, I would expect DMC to miss at least once week. |
Rashad Jennings (RB). Yes, he filled the stat sheet up in garbage time, but in fantasy football those points still count. Jennings is worthy of a pickup in all leagues. |
Arian Foster (RB) |
Back, Other |
Questionable for Week 10: Foster tried giving it a go Sunday, but couldn’t stay in the game. He has been dealing with many different injuries this season, so don’t be surprised to see him sit out Week 10. |
Ben Tate (RB). Dennis Johnson (RB). Tate is also in some pain because of his rib injury, so there is no guarantee he will be the key handcuff for owners. Dennis Johnson received some carries last week and if Foster is out, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if he received double digit carries in Week 10. |
Darren Sproles (RB) |
Concussion |
Questionable for Week 10: Sproles was concussed on the first possession of the game on Sunday. It is tough for players to get medically cleared within a week’s time, so owners should consider a backup plan. |
Pierre Thomas (RB). Thomas will carry the load for the Saints if Sproles can’t go vs. Dallas and has a chance to put up some monster points as being the primary rusher and receiver. |
