2013 Fantasy Football: Week 10 Eliminator/Survivor Pool Picks
If by chance you’re still alive in your 2013 Eliminator (Suicide) Pools, here are some selections to ponder for week ten in the NFL:
SAFE PLAY: Colts- The Colts walked into a hornet’s nest to face a Texans team that had their backs’ against the wall and still managed to rally, scoring 24 second half points. This week they get to stay in Indy to face the Rams who are 1-3 on the road. At home, the Colts average 29.5 points per game and are 3-1 (only loss was to Miami on Week 2). Andrew Luck also possesses an 8:1 TD:INT ratio at Lucas Oil Stadium. The one player who could stand in the way of an easy Colts victory is hot rookie, Zac Stacy. Stacy has averaged 130.5 rushing yards the last two games while the Colts are 27th against the run, giving up 124.9 yards per game. Chuck Pagano will make sure the Colts don’t look ahead to a divisional showdown next Thursday vs the Titans.
GET THEM OUT OF THE WAY PLAY: Eagles- The Eagles are 0-10 in their last 10 games home games. Luckily, this week they are on the road where they are 4-1 this season. Even luckier, they are facing a Packers team without Aaron Rodgers. The Packers instead start Seneca Wallace who looked annoyed to be on the field on his way to completing 11 passes for 114 yards. For the Eagles, Nick Foles and his 7 TD vs Oakland last week go up against the 20th rated pass defense (250.5 passing yards per game) in Green Bay.
MY PLAY: Titans- Going to the well once again, the Titans get the 0-8 Jaguars in Tennessee. Playing devils advocate, Tennessee’s two offensive stars, Jake Locker and Chris Johnson, had only a so-so go of it vs Jacksonville last season. In two games, Locker only averaged 137 passing yards while throwing only 1 TD and 2 INTs (both in a loss to Jacksonville). As far as Johnson goes, he had 136 rushing yards (3.2 yards per carry).
Other Notes: Hard to trust a 2-6 team but the Giants have won two straight. They also get the Raiders who have to travel all the way to New York, with a questionable Terrelle Pryor and just gave up 542 yards (49 points)… The Broncos travel to S.D. where Peyton Manning rallied the Broncos to score 35 second half points (won 35-24) and regained his Manning-esque status…
Safe Play: 6-3
Out of the way Play: 5-4
My Play: 7-2
