2013 Fantasy Football: Week 4 Target Practice

Key: (I) – Player missed game or left game early due to injury. (S) – Player was suspended for game. (A) – Player was inactive. Most notable players who missed a game due to injury or benching are marked with an S or A. If a lesser-known player (for example Kory Sperry) was inactive, etc., I just put a 0 in his weekly spot because I don’t know if that player was just inactive, hurt, etc.

Arizona

Jaron Brown: 2 0 2 2 Jim Dray: 2 7 0 1 Andre Ellington: 3 2 6 6 Larry Fitzgerald: 14 5 6 9 Michael Floyd: 6 7 6 10 Rob Housler: 0 0 3 2 Rashard Mendenhall: 1 2 1 4 Patrick Peterson: 1 0 0 0 Andre Roberts: 9 8 4 2 Alfonso Smith: 1 0 1 1 Kory Sperry: 1 0 0 0 Stepfan Taylor: 0 0 1 0

Looks like Fitz (6-68-1) is back to his old self, torching Darrelle Revis for an easy touchdown. Floyd had his second 80-yard game of the season.

Atlanta

Drew Davis: 0 0 1 0 Harry Douglas: 6 5 6 6 Bradie Ewing: 1 0 0 0 Tony Gonzalez: 6 8 5 14 Steven Jackson: 8 2 (I) (I) Julio Jones: 9 15 12 13 Jacquizz Rodgers: 1 4 3 6 Jason Snelling: 3 4 5 3 Levine Toilolo: 0 0 1 2 Roddy White: 2 3 4 9

White only caught three of his nine targets, for a measly 28 yards.

Baltimore

Marlon Brown: 6 6 3 8 Dallas Clark: 12 1 7 9 Ed Dickson: 0 5 0 3 Tandon Doss: (A) (A) (A) 9 Jacoby Jones: 4 (I) (I) (I) Vonta Leach: 4 0 2 2 Bernard Pierce: 1 1 2 1 Ray Rice: 11 3 (I) 1 Torrey Smith: 8 13 9 12 Brandon Stokley: 10 5 1 0 Deonte Thompson: (A) (A) (A) 5

Buffalo

Scott Chandler: 6 6 6 3 Tashard Choice: 0 1 1 0 T.J. Graham: 1 3 5 3 Fred Jackson: 5 6 5 0 Steve Johnson: 6 10 13 6 Marquise Goodwin: 1 0 0 0 Lee Smith: (A) (A) (A) 2 CJ Spiller: 6 5 1 0 Frank Summers: 0 2 0 0 Robert Woods: 2 6 10 8

Woods is averaging 18 yards a catch and is tied for 15th among wide receivers in targets in the last two weeks (before Monday night’s game).

Carolina

Armanti Edwards: 0 2 0  Ted Ginn: 1 8 4 Domenik Hixon: 0 0 1 Brandon Lafell: 0 6 5 Greg Olsen: 10 8 8 Steve Smith: 8 11 7 Mike Tolbert: 1 3 0 DeAngelo Williams: 3 0 2

Chicago

Earl Bennett: 1 2 3 4 Martellus Bennett: 6 9 5 12 Michael Bush: 1 0 1 0 Matt Forte: 6 11 4 6 Alshon Jeffery: 8 5 8 11 Steve Maneri: 0 0 1 0 Brandon Marshall: 10 10 8 14

Jeffery is tied for 12th in targets in the past two weeks, and now has at least five catches in three games.

Cincinnati

Gio Bernard: 2 2 4 7 Tyler Eifert: 5 5 2 5 A.J. Green: 13 14 8 15 BenJarvus Green-Ellis: 1 1 0 0 Jermaine Gresham: 5 9 5 5 Marvin Jones: 2 4 4 3 Mohamed Sanu: 5 8 5 6 Dane Sanzenbacher: 0 0 0 1 Alex Smith: 0 1 0 0

Cleveland

Gary Barnidge: 1 0 0 1 Travis Benjamin: 8 0 0 1 Davone Bess: 10 8 10 6 Jordan Cameron: 13 7 11 12 Josh Gordon: (S) (S) 19 9 Tori Gurley: 2 0 0 0 Greg Little: 10 12 8 2 Chris Ogbonnaya: 3 0 5 5 Bobby Rainey: 0 0 1 2 Trent Richardson: 6 5 (Week 3 trade)

Dallas

Miles Austin: 12 4 5 (I) Cole Beasley: 0 0 1 3 Dez Bryant: 8 13 6 9 Gavin Escobar: 2 0 2 James Hanna: 0 5 0 Dwayne Harris: 3 0 1 2 DeMarco Murray: 10 6 3 5 Phillip Tanner: 1 0 0 Terrance Williams: 4 3 0 8 Jason Witten: 9 8 6 10

If Austin’s out again this week, Williams should be an OK play against Denver. Despite a ghastly red zone fumble he caught seven of eight passes.

Denver

Montee Ball: 0 2 0 Andre Caldwell: 1 1 0 2 Eric Decker: 7 13 8 7 Virgil Green: 0 1 2 1 Ronnie Hillman: 2 1 1 3 Knowshown Moreno: 3 3 2 1 Jacob Tamme: 0 0 1 Demaryius Thomas: 11 6 11 10 Julius Thomas: 7 9 4 4 Wes Welker: 11 8 8 9

Detroit

Joique Bell: 6 8 5 4 Ryan Broyles: (I) (I) 3 1 Nate Burleson: 6 8 9 (I) Reggie Bush: 8 4 (I) 6 Kris Durham: 2 2 3 4 Pat Edwards: 3 0 0 0 Joseph Fauria: 3 0 3 0 Calvin Johnson: 9 8 13 10 Brandon Pettigrew: 4 6 2 7 Tony Scheffler: 1 0 2 2

I saw several mentions Sunday that Broyles didn’t appear to be in game-shape yet so he’s not worth starting until his targets and snap counts go up.

Green Bay

Randall Cobb: 12 10 11 Jermichael Finley: 8 7 1 Johnathan Franklin: 0 0 3 James Jones: 2 12 8 Eddie Lacy: 2 (I) (I) John Kuhn: 1 0 0 Jordy Nelson: 10 4 9 Andrew Quarless: 0 3 5 Jeremy Ross: 0 0 2 James Starks: 1 5 0 Ryan Taylor: 0 0 3

Houston

Owen Daniels: 7 5 9 11 Arian Foster: 8 4 2 8 Garrett Graham: 5 5 0 6 Ryan Griffin: (A) (A) (A) 1 DeAndre Hopkins: 6 13 7 3 Andre Johnson: 16 13 6 12 Greg Jones: (A) (A) (A) 1 Keshawn Martin: 0 2 3 6 DeVier Posey: 0 0 4 Ben Tate: 2 4 4 1

Indianapolis

Vick Ballard: 2 0 0 0 Ahmad Bradshaw: 1 3 4 (I) Donald Brown: 0 0 1 2 Coby Fleener: 1 8 2 7 Stanley Havili: 0 0 1 2 Darrius Heyward-Bey: 4 5 5 6 T.Y. Hilton: 5 12 4 9 Dominique Jones: 0 2 0 1 Trent Richardson 0 0 3 1 Reggie Wayne: 8 8 7 11 Griff Whalen: 0 3 0 0 Dwayne Allen: 2 0 0 (out for season)

Jacksonville

Mike Brown: 3 0 0 0 Stephen Burton: 0 3 9 0 Jeremy Ebert: 0 0 0 3 Justin Forsett: 5 0 0 0 Clay Harbor: 1 4 1 8 Maurice Jones-Drew: 2 1 5 1 Allen Reisner: 5 2 1 1 Denard Robinson: 0 0 0 1 Ace Sanders: 9 7 3 8 Cecil Shorts: 11 14 15 12 Will Ta’ufo’ou: 1 0 1 0 Jordan Todman: 4 0 0 0 D.J. Williams: 0 0 1 0

Kansas City

Donnie Avery: 5 4 7 10 Dwayne Bowe: 6 8 3 7 Kevin Brock: 0 0 1 2 Jamaal Charles: 6 10 8 11 Knile Davis: 1 0 0 0 Anthony Fasano: 5 2 0 0 Cyrus Gray: 1 0 0 0 Chad Hall: 0 0 1 0 Junior Hemingway: 1 0 1 0 A.J. Jenkins: 0 0 2 0 Dexter McCluster: 5 4 4 5 Sean McGrath: 0 4 4 5 Anthony Sherman: 4 0 2 1

Four catches and 58 yards either tie or set season-bests for Bowe. Alex Smith is Captain Checkdown and Captain Look At My First Read And Then Run, so Bowe doesn’t have much of an opportunity for success. Look to trade him.

Miami

Charles Clay: 6 7 6 6 Michael Egnew: 0 0 1 0 Brandon Gibson: 10 2 8 8 Brian Hartline: 14 8 6 4 Rishard Matthews: 0 0 4 2 Lamar Miller: 1 2 3 3 Dion Sims: 0 0 1 1 Marcus Thigpen: 0 0 0 2 Daniel Thomas: 1 1 1 1 Mike Wallace: 5 11 5 7

Minnesota

John Carlson: 1 2 2 2 Toby Gerhart: 0 0 2 1 Greg Jennings: 7 6 6 4 Zach Line: 1 0 1 Cordarrelle Patterson: 1 2 4 2 Adrian Peterson: 4 2 6 1 Kyle Rudolph: 4 6 8 2 Jerome Simpson: 8 5 8 11 Joe Webb: 0 0 1 1 Jarius Wright: 2 2 4 1

Jennings’ 70-yard touchdown was a short pass that he took to the house, avoiding several defenders. It’s very unlikely he’ll be able to duplicate that type of catch-and-run consistently so don’t bet on many more touchdowns or high-yardage games from him.

New England

Danny Amendola: 14 (I) (I) (I) LeGarrette Blount: 0 1 0 Brandon Bolden: 0 0 6 1 Josh Boyce: 2 0 1 3 James Develin: 0 1 0 1 Aaron Dobson: 0 10 10 3 Julian Edelman: 9 18 7  9 Michael Hoomanawanui: 1 1 2 Matthew Mulligan: 0 0 0 1 Stevan Ridley: 0 0 0 2 Zach Sudfeld: 1 (I) 2  Kenbrell Thompkins: 14 7 7 11 Shane Vereen: 10 (I) (I) (I)

Outside of Tom Brady, it seems like Edelman and Thompkins are the only two Patriots I’d feel comfortable starting weekly.

New Orleans

Jed Collins: 0 0 1 1 Marques Colston: 6 7 8 8 Jimmy Graham: 7 16 15 4 Mark Ingram: 0 1 0 Robert Meachem: 0 0 2 1 Lance Moore: 4 4 3 Darren Sproles: 6 8 6 8 Kenny Stills: 5 0 2 6 Pierre Thomas: 4 5 6 6 Nick Toon: 0 0 0 2 Ben Watson: 3 0 2 2

New York Giants

Victor Cruz: 8 11 8 16 Larry Donnell: 0 3 0 0 Henry Hynoski: 1 0 1 0 Brandon Jacobs: 0 1 0 1 Jerrel Jernigan: 0 0 1 0 Louis Murphy: 0 0 1 0 Brandon Myers: 9 10 6 1 Hakeem Nicks: 8 7 1 9 Reuben Randle: 6 9 4 4 Da’Rel Scott: 8 4 3 2 Bear Pascoe: 0 2 2 1 David Wilson: 1 1 0 3

Even though it wasn’t much, Wilson had the most attempts, rushing yards and targets of the season in Week 4. Buy low before he goes off.

New York Jets

Tommy Bohanon: 2 0 1 3 Jeff Cumberland: 0 0 3 1 Clyde Gates: 4 8 1 3 Alex Green: 0 0 0 1 Stephen Hill: 9 8 6 1 Santonio Holmes: 3 6 10 5  Chris Ivory: 2 0 0 (I) Jeremy Kerley: 4 0 5 5 Ben Obomanu: 0 0 0 1 Bilal Powell: 5 5 3 5  Konrad Reuland: 1 0 0 0 Kellen Winslow: 8 6 0 9

Powell turned in 108 total yards, averaged 4.7 yards per rush and caught three passes for 42 yards. He should be a consistent flex play for the foreseeable future.

Oakland

Brice Butler: 1 3 4 3 Jacoby Ford: 2 2 1 0 Rashad Jennings: 0 0 2 8 Jeron Mastrud: 1 0 0 2 Darren McFadden: 5 4 1 0 Denarius Moore: 7 2 11 6 Jamize Olawale: 0 0 0 1  Marcel Reece: 2 0 5 2 Mychal Rivera: 3 3 3 6 Jeremy Stewart: 0 0 0 1 Rod Streater: 8 4 4 3

Just on volume alone Jennings should is probably worth a flex start this week if McFadden’s out.

Philadelphia

Jason Avant: 3 7 8 4 Bryce Brown: 0 1 0 3 Brent Celek: 3 1 5 6  Zach Ertz: 3 2 1 2 James Casey: 0 1 0 1 Riley Cooper: 6 3 7 2 DeSean Jackson: 9 15 7 6 Jeff Maehl: 0 0 0 2 LeSean McCoy: 1 6 1 3 Chris Polk: 0 0 0 2

Pittsburgh

Le’Veon Bell: (I) (I) (I) 5 Antonio Brown: 7 9 13 12 Jerricho Cotchery: 7 9 4 6 Jonathan Dwyer: 0 0 3 0 David Johnson: 1 1 3 1 Will Johnson: 0 0 1 0 Felix Jones: 0 0 2 1 Heath Miller: (I) (I) 4 8 Derek Moye: 0 1 0 0 David Paulson: 0 4 2 0 Isaac Redman: 3 2 0 0 Emmanuel Sanders: 12 10 8 8 Larod Stephens-Howling: 3 0 0 0 Markus Wheaton: 0 0 1 5

Miller should be owned in all leagues. He’s 10th among tight ends in targets the last two weeks and will once again be one of Big Ben’s top two receivers.

San Diego

Keenan Allen: 0 3 1 6 Ronnie Brown: 2 1 0 0 Vincent Brown: 4 7 3 9  Malcom Floyd: 5 6 (I) (I) Antonio Gates: 4 10 7 10 Ladarius Green: 0 0 2 0 Ryan Mathews: 2 1 0 4 Le’Ron McClain: 0 0 1 0 John Phillips: 0 0 0 1 Eddie Royal: 6 8 2 3  Danny Woodhead: 3 9 8 7

Allen caught five passes for 80 yards and should be owned in more leagues just on talent and future opportunity.

San Francisco

Jon Baldwin: (A) (A) (A) 2 Anquan Boldin: 17 4 8 7 Garrett Celek: 0 0 2 0 Vernon Davis: 9 5 (I) 4 Frank Gore: 2 3 4 2 Kendall Hunter: 0 0 1 1 Vance McDonald: 2 2 3 2 Bruce Miller: 2 5 1 3 Marlon Moore: 1 1 1 Quinton Patton: 0 0 1 1 Kyle Williams: 6 6 6 1

Seattle

Doug Baldwin: 8 1 2 4 Derrick Coleman: 3 0 0 1 Kellen Davis: 0 0 2 0 Jermaine Kearse: 2 0 1 1 Marshawn Lynch: 3 3 0 3 Zach Miller: 4 4 3 3 Sidney Rice: 3 5 5 5 Golden Tate: 7 2 7 5 Robert Turbin: 2 1 1 0  Stephen Williams: 1 0 0 1 Luke Willson: 0 1 5 0

St. Louis

Tavon Austin: 7 12 7 8 Stedman Bailey: 0 0 1 0 Jared Cook: 10 6 7 9 Benny Cunningham: 0 0 3 1  Chris Givens: 3 8 8 8 Cory Harkey: 0 0 1 0 Lance Kendricks: 4 3 5 1 Mike McNeill: 0 1 0 0 Isaiah Pead: (S) 4 7 (S) Austin Pettis: 6 11 5 9 Brian Quick: 2 1 4 3 Daryl Richardson: 6 6 0 2

Tampa Bay

Nate Byham: 1 1 1 0 Jeff Demps: 0 0 0 1 Vincent Jackson: 13 11 6 11 Mike James: 0 0 0 1  Brian Leonard: 1 0 2 2 Erik Lorig: 0 0 1 2 Doug Martin: 6 1 6 4 Kevin Ogletree: 2 3 6 9 Eric Page: 0 0 5 0  Mike Williams: 8 6 9 6 Timothy Wright: 0 0 2 6

Jackson only caught two passes, but it’s good to see that he’s being heavily targeted even with the quarterback change.

Tennessee

Kenny Britt: 2 9 5 (I) Justin Hunter: 0 0 2 1 Chris Johnson: 0 1 2 2  Collin Mooney: 0 0 0 1 Michael Preston: 0 0 1 0 Craig Stevens: 1 0 0 0 Delanie Walker: 4 2 8 4 Nate Washington: 7 5 10 8 Damian Williams: 2 0 2 7 Kendall Wright: 4 11 6 9

Washington
