Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks:
Center:
Our pick- Logan Couture– San Jose Sharks | $7,500 | vs. NYI: The Ducks beat the Islanders 5-2 last night after a glorious performance late in the 2nd period, and domination in the third period. The Islanders started off strong, getting out to a 2-1 lead early on. However, The one-dimensional nature of the Islanders roster (being a one line team) kicked in eventually, and the Ducks ran away with it. Expect a blowout in this one.
Center/Utility Alternate Options
Luxury pick ($7,500+) Range: Logan Couture
$5,900-$7,400 Range: Jason Spezza– Ottawa Senators | $6,100 | @ BUF: According to the Ottawa Senators twitter feed, Spezza will be skating tonight with Clarke MacArthur and Bobby Ryan on the first line. This is one of the biggest no-brainer picks if you want to go this price range route.
Mid-level $4,900-$5,900 Range: Joe Pavelski– San Jose Sharks | $5,900 | vs. NYI: Same old trick, going with Sharks tonight is easily the best decision you can make.
$3,600-$4,800 Range: Kyle Turris– Ottawa Senators | $4,600 | @ BUF: Turris isn’t going to be skating with Bobby Ryan tonight, as mentioned earlier, but he’s still an amazing player. He’ll be lacing them up tonight with Milan Michalek and Erik Condra.
Bargain Bin ($3,500 and under) Range: Joakim Anderson- Detroit Red Wings | $2,800 | @ FLA: According to @AnsarKhanMLive, the Wings are going with Anderson on a line with Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar. Those are two very talented young players that will be skating with Anderson. If you need a cheap option, he’s your man.

Left Wing:
Our pick- Bobby Ryan- Ottawa Senators | $5,800 | @ BUF: Ryan has been amazing with Kyle Turris, and now he moves up to the first line against a horrid Buffalo team. Roll him out there.
LW/Utility Alternate Options:
Luxury ($7,500+) Range: Jeff Skinner– Carolina Hurricanes | $7,600 | @ EDM: If Carolina scores it will be the Skinner – Eric Staal – Tuomo Ruutu line that does it. If the number one lines match up with each other like we expect them to, Skinner will draw lazy right winger Nail Yakupov as his matchup. Few matchups are better for your prospects of getting a goal.
$5,900-$7,400 Range: Patrick Marleau– San Jose Sharks | $6,900 | vs. NYI: Marleau and the Sharks are looking at a big night against a horrid Islanders team. You know what to do.
Mid-level $4,900-$5,800 Range: Bobby Ryan
$3,600-$4,800 Range: Justin Abdelkader– Detroit Red Wings | $3,800 | @ FLA: Abdelkader will be skating tonight with Stephen Weiss on the second line, in what will be an emotional return for him to Sunrise, Florida. Expect Babcock to give Weiss’s line a healthy amount of minutes as long as they are playing well.
Bargain Bin ($3,500 and under) Range: Sven Baertschi– Calgary Flames | $3,300 | vs. BOS: When we picked Trevor Smith and Nikolai Kulemin against the Bruins over the weekend, it paid dividends. Further, Peter Holland the fourth line center, provided a goal and an assist. Boston is struggling on their third and fourth lines right now given the injuries and suspension that is coming to Shawn Thornton. Baertschi is a nice sneaky play tonight.
Right Wing:
Our pick- Tommy Wingels– San Jose Sharks | $4,100 | vs. NYI: Not much else to say here, other than he’s facing the Islanders.
RW/Utility Alternate Options:
Luxury ($7,500+) Range: Patrick Kane– Chicago Blackhawks | $8,300 | @ DAL: Kane had three assists on Sunday against Florida. He’s hot right now, so if you want so spend money here, he’s the guy to do it on.
$5,900- $7,400 Range: Johan Franzen– Detroit Red Wings | $6,300 | @ FLA: Franzen has been stated to be skating with Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi on the first line tonight. He’s a solid choice.
Mid-level $4,900- $5,900 Range: Ryan Callahan– New York Rangers | $5,600 | vs. NSH: Expect the Rangers to win tonight against the Predators, and if Callahan’s line draws the David Legwand – Patric Hornqvist – Gabriel Bourque line, their prospects of scoring are enormous.
$3,600- $4,800 Range: Tommy Wingels
Bargain Bin ($3,500 and under) Range: Erik Condra– Ottawa Senators | $3,200 | @ BUF: As stated before, Condra is confirmed tonight to be skating with Kyle Turris and Milan Michalek. For the price, he’s a good play.
Defense:
Our pick- Justin Braun– San Jose Sharks | $3,800 | vs. NYI: Braun has been skating on the number one power-play line in San Jose. The New York Islanders penalty-kill is horrendous. Easy math.
Our pick- Marek Zidlicky– New Jersey Devils | $3,400 | @ CLS: Zidlicky is confirmed to be back in the lineup tonight, and with the Blue Jackets lacking a good penalty-kill unit, the 36-year-Czechoslovakian is a nice choice tonight.
Other suggestions:
Erik Karlsson– Ottawa Senators | $6,600 | @ BUF:
Thomas Hickey– New York Islanders | $2,500 | @ SJ: The Islanders block a ton of shots, and for $2,500 its a shrewd, cheap choice to go with Hickey or Travis Hamonic ($3,100).
Goaltender:
Our pick- Robin Lehner– Ottawa Senators | $6,300 | @ BUF: Do we even need an alternate option here? Lehner should be started by absolutely everyone. He’s young, talented, and is the best goaltender on Ottawa right now. The Buffalo Sabres have only scored a paltry 51 goals this year, good for a 1.7 per game mark. He’s $100 more expensive than all the $6,200 options. The $6,200 options include: Carter Hutton, Reto Berra, Kevin Poulin, Martin Brodeur, Curtis McElhinney and possibly Martin Jones. McElhinney, Brodeur and Jones are intriguing, but Lehner is still the best/only option here.
Utility Picks:
We chose from three guys we mentioned earlier: Clarke MacArthur ($5,300) , Patrick Marleau ($6,900) , and Joe Thornton. ($5,800)
