Tampa Bay Lightning @ Toronto Maple Leafs – Start Time – 7:30

Following two absolute clobbering’s by opponents Nashville and Buffalo, the Leafs are clearly in an absolute shambles. They have specifically struggled against number two lines, but really they are just a dumpster fire all around. The top stack for me tonight in GPP’s, includes all Lightning players — in particular Steven Stamkos ( $8,000 ), Tyler Johnson ( $5,300 ), Ondrej Palat ( $5,100 ), Nikita Kucherov ( $4,600 ). I also like Vladimir Namestnikov ( $2,500 ) as a sneaky punt play. On defense, I love Anton Stralman ( $3,300 ) and Jason Garrison ( $4,700 ). Finally, Valtteri Filppula ( $4,600 ) is in play as well at  his cheap price, but using Filppula and Stamkos would mean you can’t use Tyler Johnson (probably), unless you want to use him at utility.

Often times in hockey, teams do bounce back from performances like the Leafs have had in the past two nights, but they don’t often come against teams that are in the Top-3 in the NHL. Expect this game to get ugly.  Ben Bishop ( $8,200 ) is my top cash game goalie tonight.

Arizona Coyotes @ Dallas Stars – Start Time – 8:30 PM

There aren’t things that are more fun in NHL DFS than having Steven Stamkos face the Leafs, and having Tyler Seguin face Mike Smith and the Coyotes on the same day. At just $8,800 Seguin is an obvious cash game play, and his partner in crime Jamie Benn ( $6,600 ) makes for a good addition to your lineup. In addition to Benn, Cody Eakin ( $4,100 ) makes for a very good cash game play at center, as he is now between Seguin and Benn on the top line. Top power-play defenseman Trevor Daley ( $3,400 ) isn’t producing like he was at the beginning of the year, hence the price drop. However, as long as he’s slated to skate on said top power-play, and the top defensive pairing I’m going to be interested. He’s entirely too cheap right now, and is viable in cash games and GPPs alike.

Washington Capitals @ Colorado Avalanche – Start Time – 9:00 PM

The Avalanche are currently allowing the second most shots per game in the NHL, a stat that should be making Alex Ovechkin ( $8,700 ) — and the NHL shots on goal leader with 81 — salivate. Ovechkin is the top winger play on the board tonight, and really makes a case between himself, Seguin, and Stamkos very tough to decide on. Center Niklas Backstrom ( $5,300 ) is a frustrating case, because on one hand he centers for Ovechkin, and skates on the top power-play unit, but on the other hand he doesn’t take enough shots on goal to be viable unless he records two assists. In eight road games Backstrom has exactly nine shots on goal.

John Carlson ( $5,800 ) and Mike Green ( $4,900 ) are strong cash game plays, though they do carry a hefty price tag. Carlson is easier to trust given his hefty time on ice and penchant for blocking shots, though Green is the one who skates on the top power-play unit.

The key stat from this game is that the Avalanche have the league’s fifth best penalty-kill at 88.2%, with Washington sporting the leagues third best power-play at 24.6%.

Andre Burakovsky ( $3,600 ) and Troy Brouwer ( $4,200 ) are a solid GPP combination that not many people will be on, but they do rank firmly behind the Lightning stack.

For the Avalanche, blue-liner Zach Redmond ( $3,400 ) plays on their top power-play unit, so he’s an interesting GPP target as well as Matt Duchene ( $6,100 ). The rest of Colorado is very hard to trust.

Anaheim Ducks @ Vancouver Canucks – Start Time – 10:00 PM

Ryan Getlzaf ( $5,900 ) and Corey Perry ( $6,700 ) have struggled lately, but to ignore them in a GPP against a team that played last night and allowed eight goals to the Oilers, is a huge mistake. Getzlaf and Perry are ridiculously cheap, due to their cold streak. I’m going to bet they finally have recovered from their respective illnesses, and hand it to the Canucks on a back-to-back. Emerson Etem ( $3,700 ) is back on the top line according to Daily Faceoff, and he makes a viable cash game punt, and GPP line stack partner with Getzlaf and Perry.

A sneaky line stack combination in GPP’s other than Getzlaf and Perry is Kyle Palmieri ( $4,000 ), Ryan Kesler ( $6,400 ) and Matt Beleskey ( $4,300 ).

Florida Panthers @ San Jose Sharks – Start Time 10:30 PM

This is the space where everyone begins to think I am absolutely crazy because I actually like the Panthers as GPP plays tonight. The Sharks are coming back from Buffalo after yet another loss to the Sabres (yes, it’s been eight straight to them). The snow has been coming down hard in Buffalo this week and I imagine the trip back to San Jose was difficult for the Sharks. The Panthers have been on a long west coast road trip, and have an impressive win over the Anaheim Ducks to hold high.

The Sharks surprisingly have given up the same number of goals they have scored (55) and the Panthers have been surprisingly good offensively as of late. I like the Panthers second line tonight as well as the Sharks line, in GPPs. For the Sharks, Patrick Marleau ( $5,000 ) and Logan Couture ( $5,400 ) are the plays, while Vincent Trocheck ( $5,100 ), Jimmy Hayes ( $5,200 ), and Jussi Jokinen ( $5,300 ) are the plays I like for Florida.  These players are GPP only for me however.
