Congrats to the A's for finally snapping their 10-game losing streak. In addition, congrats to Billy Beane for pulling off the best backstab since Fredo went against the Corleone family. In all seriousness, was it Geren's fault that the only thing of value Matsui brought to Oakland was his porn collection? I mean really, is anyone surprised that Hideki Matsui, Josh Willingham and David DeJesus (None of whom are batting over .242) didn't take the A's to the promised land? That was most ridiculous prognostication since that mentally deranged old-man predicted the rapture. By the way, the A's lost again on Saturday, the free-fall continues.

Speaking of a free-fall, I give you the Cleveland Indians. On May 23rd they had a 30-15 record; on June 11th they sit at 34-28. At the beginning of the year they looked like the team from Major League, now they look like the team from Major League III – Back to the Minors

Kevin Correia will try to join Roy Halladay as a nine game winner, which is ridiculous considering his career 44-47 record. Even more ridiculous is the fact that his ERA is 5.47 at home and 2.42 on the road. And he will be pitching…at home.

Joba "the Hut" Chamberlain will be leaving us for the foreseeable future to join the disabled list and have Tommy John surgery. Is it possible that this is all a cover for gastric bypass surgery?

Speaking of Huts, Bartolo Colon strained his left hamstring, while attacking a hot dog vendor running to cover first base.

The hottest player in baseball is Matt Kemp with an impressive .500 Avg, 6 HR, 14 RBI stat line over the past week.

Zack Greinke continues to make the Brewers look smart as he ran his record to 6-1, but the red flag is that 4.69 ERA. He has had an interesting season, he is not shutting down teams, but he is grinding and keeping the Brewers in all his games and that is really all you can ask.

On this day in baseball history: In a Back to the Future moment, in 1981 baseball experienced its first work stoppage. Timely, as the NFL is currently embroiled in a labor struggle and we are only a few weeks away from the NBA's June 30th labor deadline.

We are adding a new feature to my weekly article, THE ANTHONY RIZZO WATCH! I know, I know, nobody outside of San Diego really cares, but with my A's going the way of buffalo, I need something to root for and Anthony Rizzo is the truth! I was watching him tonight, he was 2-4 with a home run and a double and he has a sweet looking swing. Better yet, he knows how to take a walk, which displays his mature approach at the plate. He is only owned in 36% percent of leagues. Get ready for the next Will Clark, you heard it here first. This is coming from the guy that once bought a gross of Reggie Sanders rookie cards as an "investment."
