Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy: June 7, 2016 – FanDuel Value Plays

Below we’ve got a discussion on some some MLB DFS value plays for the Tuesday 15-game slate on FanDuel. These are some names to consider for salary relief without completely punting the position. Our friends at RotoQL have once again been used to help guide your research for today’s games. Always double check team’s official lineups and the weather prior to submitting your lineups.

Ryan Zimmerman | White Sox | $3,300 (FD) –  Back from paternity leave, Zimmerman will get Mat Latos of the White Sox on the road at the Cell. The game total currently sits at 9 with the Nationals’ implied run total at 5.2. The wind is blowing out and there isn’t much chance for rain. For his career, Zimmerman has fared better versus opposite handed pitchers (.386 wOBA vs. LHP, .344 wOBA vs. RHP) but he’s featured pop against both sides. Six of the eight homers the right-hander has popped this season have come against a righty.

Jurickson Profar | Rangers | $3,000 (FD) – Profar has been absolutely en fuego. The former top prospect is slashing .370/.383/.630 with a .428 wOBA and 169 wRC+ while hitting in each of his 10 games from the leadoff spot since the promotion. He’s done most of his damage against right-handed pitching from the left side of the plate, but tonight he may turn around to the right side to get the advantage on lefty Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel has been tougher on lefty bats over the course of his career but features some reverse splits this season — he owns a 4.44 FIP with a 13.2% K% vs. LHB and a 3.81 FIP with a 21.6% K% vs. RHB — so there’s a slim chance Profar stays on the left side. Either way, the game has an 8.5 total with the Rangers’ implied team total at 4.3, so runs will be scored and RotoQL feels this makes Profar one of the best value plays on the day.

Alex Rodriguez | Yankees | $3,400 (FD) – The Yankees are a decent favorite (-160) at home against southpaw David Huff and the Angels. The game total sits at 9 with the Yankees’ implied team total at 5.1. The wind is blowing straight out to center at the time of the writing, so there’s a high probability of dongs in this contest. In general, Huff hasn’t been a very good against left or right-handed bats, but he owns a 4.84 xFIP and a 43.4% FB% against righties compared to the 4.61 xFIP and 35% FB% to lefties. Rodriguez owns a career .388 wOBA and .250 ISO against lefties over his career. Love this matchup for ARod and think this will be my dong of the day.

Ben Revere | Nationals | $2,500 (FD) – Back to Chicago with Ben Revere to pick on Mat Latos. The Nationals outfielder should lead off for the Nationals with that game total of 9 and implied team total of 5.1. Revere’s affordable salary on FanDuel properly reflects the struggles he’s experienced to start the season. And over his career, Revere owns just a .291 wOBA against right-handed pitchers. The hope is that he gets on base and swipes a bag or two while allowing you to spend up in some other area. RotoQL really likes his value today.
