Friday’s DFS NBA 2/21

Steph CurryI’ve started back up at work, so my writeups will be coming in as soon as I can. I actually might start doing them the night before, but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. I hope you guys don’t mind, but it’s the best I can do right now. No need to waste time. Here are today’s picks.

$8,000 – Max Salary

Joakim Noah (PF/C – $8,600) gets one of the best matchups of the night when he plays the Nuggets at home. Noah has already had success against them this season going for 11/12/8. In that game, he only played 32 minutes. There is some upside for him with this play, but his price has risen to a point where playing matchups is a must. The Nuggets are one of the worst teams against other team’s big men. Roll out Noah with confidence tonight.

Carmelo Anthony (SF/PF – $10,300) is red hot lately and goes up against the Magic tonight, a solid matchup for him. He is coming of a game where he scored 42 real points, so his stroke is on and he’s not afraid to chuck it 25+ times. In his last three games, Anthony has put up 60, 44, and 55 fantasy points. He’s not averaging a whole bunch of fantasy points against the Magic this season (38), but he’s doing it in only 27 minutes per game. Tonight if the game stays close he’s looking at an easy 50 fantasy points in 38 minutes.

$6,000 – $7,900

Tim Duncan (PF/C – $7,700) is a guy you always have to worry about getting a random sit, but tonight I think he goes. He’s going up against the Suns, a prime matchup for a guy with nice offensive skills. Like Anthony, Duncan is doing serious damage in limited minutes against his opponent tonight. He’s averaging 38 fantasy points in 29 minutes in two games so far this season against the Suns. He sat Wednesday, so that should give him enough rest to play 30+ minutes and get him 40 fantasy points in this matchup.

Kendall Marshall (PG – $6,700) has been named the starter tonight, so I’m in love with this play. The Celtics don’t possess a great matchup for him, but he’s playing so well in his last two games that you have to go with him at this price. He’s had 34 points and 33 assists in his last two games. He’s a perfect fit for D’Antoni’s system and I think we all see that now. He should fare well against the Celtics and hit value at this low price.

$4,500 – $5,900

Carlos Boozer (PF/C – $5,800) did some damage against the Nuggets earlier in the season in the form of a double double (15/10). Tonight, he has a nice price and should be a solid candidate for 30-35 fantasy points at worst. His minutes have seemed to lessen due to Taj Gibson, but he didn’t perform well the other night. Boozer should still see 28-30 minutes and that should be plenty against a team like Denver.

Tim Hardaway Jr. (SG – $4,600) is a little expensive for his minutes/talent lately, but he’s worth a hard look for cash games. He’s seeing more minutes lately as his 36 minutes a few days ago shows and he’s scoring at a nice rate. In his last two games, he has 39 real points and 54 fantasy points. He doesn’t do a whole lot besides scoring, so his upside is limited. Against the Magic tonight, I could see him shooting real well and having a nice game.

The Rest

Thomas Robinson (PF – $3,000) has a prime matchup going up against the Jazz tonight, but I doubt he starts. Like last game, Robinson will likely be coming off the bench. For minimum salary though, he had a very nice game. Ten points and nine rebounds is a solid game for 23 minutes of action. If he’s starting tonight then you must play him, but instead he becomes just a very good player if he’s off the bench.

Mo Williams (PG/SG – $3,800) is surprisingly cheap, but his play before the ASB wasn’t that great so it’s understandable I guess. He had a solid game against the Spurs the other night, so I think he has potential tonight. He scored well in his last game with 19 points in 26 minutes. Tonight against the Jazz, he faces a solid matchup and one that he should take advantage of as long as he gets another 25 minutes.
