Apparently appendix problems are contagious, as Adam Dunn joins Matt Holliday in the Appendix-less club.
The season is officially 7 days old, your projected AL playoff teams: Texas, Kansas City, Toronto and Baltimore. Your projected NL playoff teams: Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Colorado. More surprising than the AL leaders, the race to be the last winless team, Boston and Tampa Bay.
Top pitchers going today: Roy Halladay, Josh Johnson, Jon Lester, David Price. Lester and Price try to quiet the rising hysteria in Boston and Tampa. Hysteria might be a strong word for Tampa; they don’t really care about baseball.
You are probably leading your fantasy league if, you went heavy on Texas positional players. You are probably losing your fantasy league if, you took Albert Pujols with your first pick (.182 avg, 1 HR, 3 RBI)
Ubaldo “Pull up your skirt” Jimenez was placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to April 2, for, wait for it…a cut cuticle. Not good when your injury could double for a tragic accident at a nail salon.
Mitch Kramer, er, Tim Lincecum was dominant striking out 13 and giving up only one run in 7.1 innings against the Padres. The highlight of the game was his humiliation of 5th year senior Ben Affleck.
The Bearded One, Brian Wilson, was activated by the Giants.
Players with 4 hits on Wednesday: Ryan Howard, Carlos Quentin, Ian Desmond, Chris Coghlan. Ryan Howard’s start is particularly impressive because he does not have partners in crime, Chase Utley and Jayson Werth, to give him protection. In the first 7 days of 2011, he already has half the home runs and RBI’s he had all of last April.

Cheers to the San Francisco Giants who prove to be a class organization by dedicating their next game against the Dodgers to badly beaten fan Brian Stow.
