Lance McCullers | Astros | $8,000 (FD) – To be fair, we haven’t been providing these “value” plays for FanDuel by RotoQL all that long, however, Lance McCullers’ value tonight (8.99) is far and away the highest (best) we’ve seen from this resource so far this season. The matchup against Texas isn’t the greatest — since the start of ‘15 the Rangers strike out just 18.8% against righties and they own the league’s 10th best wOBA (.320) against them — and the run total sits at 8.5 with Texas’ implied total at 4.3, so if you’re looking to get McCullers into your lineup it should be a tournament only play.
Adam Lind | Mariners | $2,300 (FD) – The Mariners draw right-hander Dan Straily of the Reds in the Great American Small Park with an expected game total of 8.5 runs according to good folks in Las Vegas. The Mariners will get very lefty for this matchup and Adam Lind presents one of the best values on the slate at the first base position. Since last season, Lind has posted a .350 wOBA and .189 ISO with the platoon advantage. Straily is pretty split neutral, but he has allowed more fly balls and harder contact to lefties of the course of his career while inducing fewer strikeouts against them. Dong of the day potential.
Trevor Plouffe | Twins | $2,900 (FD) – Plouffe is the best value of the 15-game slate according to RotoQL’s model. He’ll get Toronto right-hander Aaron Sanchez at home with a run total of 8 while the Twinkies implied total sits at 3.9. There is some history between the two, but the sample is even too small for the BvP truthers. Plouffe is 2-for-3 against Sanchez with a double, a run batted in and a strikeout against the young Blue Jay hurler.
Brandon Guyer | Rays | $3,300 (FD) – This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Brandon Guyer in this slot and it probably won’t be the last — until his price goes up, anyway. Guyer is projected to leadoff for the Rays against right-hander Anibal Sanchez of the Tigers on the road in Detroit with an expected run total of 9. Over the course of his career Guyer has performed much better against lefties, but he’s posted a .370 wOBA and .217 ISO against southpaws this season with a pair of dongs.
