This Sunday, I’ll be doing my best Michael Jordan impression. Writing my picks while coming off sickness is one of the most courageous things a man can do and I’ll be trying my best at it today. We have two early games and six late games to choose from. If you do play the early games on DraftKings then be sure to lock in your lineups at 1pm Eastern.

Point Guard

Victor Oladipo had a huge game against the Lakers in his last game and has another nice matchup tonight against the Pelicans. He has put up 93 fantasy points in his last two games. Earlier in the season against the Pelicans, Oladipo went for 37 fantasy points filling the stat sheet for 10/6/6/4/2. He only shot the rock ten times in that game, but I’m expecting a few more shots for him meaning he has an upside for 45 points.

Isaiah Thomas has been lights out for the Kings once Greivis Vasquez was traded away earlier this season. In his last six games, Thomas is averaging 43 fantasy points and 26 real points. Earlier in the season these two teams met and Thomas played 29 minutes and put up 29 fantasy points. He’s averaging 35 minutes in his last six games and because of that I think he’ll be a lock for 35-38 fantasy points at the very least. His matchup against Ty Lawson is that great.

Shooting Guard

Nick Young is an interesting choice today against the Knicks. He plays 30 minutes off the bench and we all know how the Knicks can have terrible games. Young is averaging over 15 shots a game in his last five and that won’t be changing any time soon. In those five games, Swaggy P is averaging 29 fantasy points, so he’s really doing well with his bench role.

Jodie Meeksis another Lakers shooting guard that I like tonight. He’s playing a lot of minutes and is under 5k on DraftKings, so there are reasons to like him today. Meeks has at least two steals in each of his last four games and has been shooting pretty well lately. He’s shooting almost 50% from the field and 46% from three in his last six games.

Small Forward

Derrick Williams has to be considered tonight as long as Rudy Gay is once again out. In his last two starts, Williams has put up 29 points and 22 rebounds. He struggled to score against the Pacers, but who doesn’t. It also didn’t help that Williams had two early fouls. I expect him to do much better tonight in a solid matchup against the Nuggets.

Carmelo Anthony has to be considered each and every night the way he is playing and with the situation the Knicks have. He is coming off a 62 real point night against the Bobcats and also added 13 rebounds. Well, against the Lakers I easily see another double double with the way that the Lakers rebound. Carmelo has put up 26 real points in five straight games. The Knicks have handed the keys to their car to him and he’s stepping up his game these days.

Power Forward

Anderson Varejao disappointed us on Friday, but that was mainly due to a blowout. He only played 26 minutes and only had 4 rebounds. He did have a nice scoring night shooting 8-11 from the field. Against the Suns tonight, I expect him to have a huge night on the glass. The Suns do not have the talent down low to outrebound and outhustle a guy like Varejao.

J.J. Hickson is more of a GPP play tonight, but I think he could go huge against the Kings. His low numbers in his last nine games aren’t bad putting up a low of 23 fantasy points. During that time though, Hickson went for 40 and 48 fantasy points. Earlier in the season against the Kings, he went for 29 fantasy points in 33 minutes. He’s averaging 36 minutes per game in his last five, so there’s reason to believe that 29 is his floor tonight.

Center

I love Andre Drummond tonight against the Mavericks. He is coming off a huge 21 point and 20 rebound game against the Pelicans and has a great matchup tonight. He’s a rebounding machine and it should continue against the likes of Dirk, Wright, and Dalembert. In his last five games, he’s averaging 13 points and 14 rebounds to go along with 2 blocks and a steal.

If you want to take a flier on a real cheap player tonight then I would consider Timofey Mozgov from the Nuggets. Against the Kings earlier this season, he put up almost one fantasy point a minute (19 minutes and 18 points). He’s playing well lately putting up two 30+ point nights in his last four games. In his last five games, he’s averaging 23 fantasy points. I think that if you need the extra salary cap relief then this is your guy (barring any late injury news).

I have no idea.. He killed me everywhere because he wasn’t too highly owned. Coach kept taking him out and he never got in rhythm really.
