2011 Fantasy Football, Team Preview & Auction Values: Michael Vick & the Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick (See Credits Below)

QB-MICHAEL VICK($30) Vick is the #2 QB going in most draft formats so far this year. Last year was a career year for him especially the nine rushing TD's and 676 on the ground. With Vick you get two players in one but with that you also get a much more injury risk at the QB position. I like him but not willing to pay the high price he comes with especially with the depth of QB's this year. Let someone else take the chance.

RB-LeSEAN McCOY($28)– McCoy is a first round pick especially in PPR formats. With the uncertainty of the statuses of Arian Foster and Chris Johnson this year he is rising to a top 10 pick overall . He caught 78 passes last year while also rushing for 1080 yards. The only concern I have with Shady is the addition of Ronnie Brown and Andy Reid's love of keeping the ball in Vick's hands inside the 10.  Philly has produced a top 10 back in 8 out of the last 10 years so he is a lock to have another great year.

WR-DESEAN JACKSON($19) The classic home run threat, Jackson lead the league with a 22.5 average per catch in 2010. He doesnt catch a ton of passes, will throw some 3 catch 30 yard games in some weeks and is injury prone because of his diminuative size. Feast or famine but worth the risk. D Jax is the 28 player being taken off the boards in ESPN drafts at this time.

WR-JEREMY MACLIN($10) Maclin is tough to speculate about because of the mysterious "illness" that kept him out of early season camp. He states that he will be ready for week one. If healthy he is capable of very good WR2 numbers and is Vick's most reliable receiver. Jeremy is a value pick based on his ADP and a solid addition to your team providing he is really 100% healthy. Take the chance if you can get him after the 5th round.

WR-STEVE SMITH($5) Smith is coming off a very serious micro fracture knee surgery and will not be 100% for another 4-6 weeks. If he can regain his form he is a solid WR3, but in this offense there may not be enough balls to go around. Smith is worth maybe a late round flier at this time.

TE-BRENT CELEK($4) Brent disappeared last year in the high octane Philly offense. This year Michael Vick has stated that he wants to get Brent much more involved in the offense and use him much like he did Alge Crumpler in Atlanta. If these words come to fruitation Celek has the potential to be a top 10 TE once again.

K-ALEX HENERY($1) Kicking in one of the league's best offense's is always a good thing in fantasy football. If he sticks with the team which it looks like he will he is a low end #1 K. Sleeper material because most "no name" kickers ever get taken in drafts.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS($2)– The Eagles are going as one of the top 5 D/ST's so far in many draft formats. The addition of top corner Nnamdi Asomugha and with special teams return man DeSean Jackson the Eagle's figure to live up to that ranking.
