2011 Fantasy Football Week 5 Tight End Rankings: Saints’ Jimmy Graham Making It Look Easy
2) VERNON DAVIS ( TBAY)- Davis had a score last week and is coming out of his early season funk very nicely for fantasy owners. Tampa Bay ranks 21st against the pass so this looks like a very favorable match up for Davis and the 49er's passing game.
3) BRANDON PETTIGREW (CHI)- Brandon had a decent week last week in Dallas catching six balls for 60+ yards. He was targeted nine times in the game. This week the Bear's will concentrate on Calvin Johnson and the Lions receivers most likely leaving the middle open for Pettigrew to roam.
4) TONY GONZALEZ ( GBAY)- Green Bay ranks 31st against the pass and this game has the makings of a huge shootout contest. Tony has four TD's on the year and scored in three consecutive games. He is a solid play this week.
5) DUSTIN KELLER (@ NE)- Keller has a great history against the Patriots as last year he scorched them for 10 catches a TD and 140+ yards receiving. The Patriots can't stop anyone right now and I expect a solid game out of Dustin in this contest.
6) JERMICHAEL FINLEY (@ATL)- Finley was almost non-existent last week as QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 400+ yards. The Falcons have only allowed one TE to score his year so it may be tough going for Finley although I am expecting a shoot out where opportunities will be a plenty.
7) OWEN DANIELS (OAK)- Daniels is about the only reliable option left for QB Matt Schaub with the injuries to Andre Johnson and questionable Jacoby Jones. Owen has scored in three consecutive games and will look to extendthat streak against a stingy OAkland defense who has only allowed one TD this year to opposing TE's.
8) ROB GRONKOWSKI (NYJ)- Gronk was shut down last week in Oakland and I am thinking he will be the focal point of a fired up Rex Ryan defense this week making a another tough week maybe ahead. Last year he was held to just six total catches in three games played although Aaron Hernandez was on the field with him at that time.
9) JERMAINE GRESHAM (@ JAX)- Gresh is facing a Jax D who has struggled to cover the TE position this year. He has built the trust of QB Andy Dalton and should continue to flourish in the Cincinnati offense.
10) GREG OLSEN- (NO)- The Panthers may be playing from behind this weekend which means Cam Newton will be airing it out once again. Olsen has scored in back to back weeks now and is becoming a viable option in the Panther offense. He is a low end TE1 this week.
11) JARED COOK (@PITT)- Cook who was one of my earlier season sleepers is starting to get much more involved now in the Titan offense since the season ending injury to Kenny Britt. Last week he had just two catches but one was a 80 yard TD. I think that Matt Hasselbeck will use him as a safety valve this week and he will put up decent numbers. Tough match up for him this week though.
12) VISANTHE SHIANCOE (ARIZ)- Shiancoe had a good game last week going for six catches and 58 yards. He is fast becoming one of Donovan McNabb's favorite targets. He has a excellent history of scoring against the Cardinals and I see at least one touchdown this week.
13) ANTONIO GATES
14) SCOTT CHANDLER
15) KELLEN WINSLOW
16) KEVIN BOSS
17) DALLAS CLARK
18) HEATH MILLER
19) TODD HEAP
20) MARCEDES LEWIS
21) JAKE BALLARD
22) BRENT CELEK
23) RANDY MCMICHAEL
24) JEREMY SHOCKEY
