2012 Fantasy Baseball, Week 17 Rookie Report: Starling Marte shines in debut

The Pirates call up Marte and a rookie pitcher in Minnesota is the ace of the staff.
OF-STARLING MARTE (PITTSBURGH)- The Pirates called up their much heralded rookie outfielder last Thursday and he made quite a first impression as he hit a home run in his first major league at bat. Marte on the year is hitting .318 with a home run and four RBI's. Marte is a five tool star in the making with a ton of potential as his upside. If you have a roster spot I recommend taking a flier on him. There may be some growing pains along the way.
SP-SCOTT DIAMOND (MINNESOTA)- Two months I told you to take a good look at Mr. Diamond, hopefully you listened to my advice. Scott currently is the Twins best starter with a 9-4 record and a 2.88 ERA. He has only walked 15 batters in 100 inings. Scott is mainly a pitch to contact hurler who will not dazzle you with strike outs but he is worth a pick up for any team needing a solid pitcher.
SP-MARK ROGERS (MILWAUKEE)- Rogers pitched well in his first start for the Brew Crew this year going 5 2/3 innings striking out seven batters against Washington. Mark who has been hampered by shoulder injuries through out his career still sports a mid to upper 90's fastball. Rogers can help you if you need help in the strike out category although I stress taking a wait and see approach with him at this time.
1B/3B/OF- TODD FRAZIER (CINCINNATI)- Frazier is making a case for NL Rookie of the Year honors as he carries a .277/11/35 line into August. The Rutgers grad has filled in admirably at first base for Joey Votto as well as playing some third base and outfield. Keep an eye on him when Joey Votto comes back to see just how the Red's will use him.
2B/SS/3B/OF- Donovan Solano (MIAMI)- Solano appears to be a winner in the Hanley Ramirez trade as he now gets an opportunity for playing time at third base for the Marlins. He is currently hitting .278 with four steals in 36 games played. Donovan's minor league numbers are not very impressive making him in my eyes just waiver wire fodder.
