2012 Fantasy Football, Week 15 Gold Mine: David Wilson’s Upside On Display
David Wilson
The fantasy football playoffs are underway, which means you’re just starting in week 15, or you’re preparing for round two. We’ve yet again been graced by the fantasy gods with some injuries (RG3, Fred Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, etc.), so it’s time again to dig deep into the waiver wire and see if we can’t help our rosters out a bit.
The following guys are available in at least 51% of leagues and should be able to assist you in getting a much needed win should they be on the wire heading into week 15:
Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins (Available in 99% of leagues)
I know RG3 says he’ll play (or vows, really), but you just never know. Cousins has twice looked good in relief, and even was clutch in week 14. If he has to start, he could be a very sneaky fantasy option. If RG3 plays, your next best bet on the wire might be Russell Wilson (70%) or Nick Foles (92%), although Foles does face a solid Bengals defense.
David Wilson, RB, New York Giants (72%)
If you get points for kick return scores and yardage, this dude needs to be owned. Wilson scored three times and racked up 300+ all purpose yards in week 14, and could be in for more work with Ahmad Bradshaw nicked up.
Montell Owens, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (78%)
Owens is a fairly average talent, but he actually ran with nice fluidity at times against the Jets in week 14, and ended up putting up 101 total yards and a touchdown. He’s not a bad Flex play going forward if you’re hurting at running back.
Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns (51%)
Gordon makes the list once again because he’s still available in way too many leagues. He didn’t score last week, but he was a PPR demon with eight catches for 86 yards, and he has a showdown with a weak Redskins pass defense in week 15. I love his chances for a huge week.
