2012 Fantasy Football, Week 3 Rookie Report: T.Y. Hilton Moving Up The Depth Chart
Robert Griffin III and Doug Martin are the only two rookies you can trust to start with Trent Richardson likely to join that list soon.
Washington running back Alfred Morris, a sixth-round pick, has actually been the most valuable rookie not named Griffin or Martin.
However, that could change soon. Some rookies appear to be moving up the depth chart and while I wouldn't play them yet, here are a couple names to follow or add to your bench if you have room.
T.Y. Hilton | Indianapolis: The third-round pick helped fill the void when Austin Collie was injured and had four catches for 113 yards and a touchdown after having only one catch in the first two games. Collie is out for the year, so Hilton is a nice guy to pick up this week and he could be in your line-up sooner than you think.
Lamar Miller | Miami: The Dolphins fourth-round pick has been a significant factor in Miami's running game for the past two weeks and his role could increase with Reggie Bush's injury. Miller had 10 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown against Oakland and followed it up with nine carries for 48 yards against the Jets. Daniel Thomas seems like the top back behind Bush, but Miller is getting used right away and could be in line for more work.
Ronnie Hillman | Denver: A third-round pick out of San Diego State, Hillman got his first NFL action last week after Willis McGahee left with a neck injury. Lance Ball got the most action in place of McGahee, but had just 16 yards on seven carries. Hillman had only two carries, but if McGahee misses any games, Hillman should see a larger workload.
Bryce Brown | Philadelphia: If you have LeSean McCoy, you might want to get Brown since he is the handcuff. A seventh-round pick, Brown has nine carries on the year and was the only running back besides McCoy to get a carry on Sunday, so if the full workload for McCoy results in an injury, Brown will become the hot waiver-wire pick-up.
