2015 Fantasy Football: Week 7 Buy/Sell

BUY – Dorial Green-Beckham – WR – Tennessee Titans

The time is now to buy into DGB, as the stats are there when he is given the opportunity. DGB has had some issues with his route running, especially giving up on his routes, which has led him to see just 80 snaps this season. However, in those 80 snaps, DGB is averaging 8.4 yards per target (11 targets on 80 offensive snaps) and has six catches and two touchdowns through five games this season.

In front of DGB is Harry Douglas. Douglas has played 220 offensive snaps this season and has only been targeted 23 times, averaging 3.5 yards per target. Douglas also only has one touchdown and nine catches so far this year, and his touchdown came in the first half of the first game of the season when Marcus Mariota threw four first half touchdowns. The Titans spent a second round draft pick on Green-Beckham in this 2015 draft, which is telling. Not to mention, Douglas might not suit up on Sunday against his former team because of a rib injury.

SELL – Benjamin Watson – TE – New Orleans Saints

Watson burst onto the scene in Week 6 on Thursday night against the Falcons with 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown, doing his best Jimmy Graham impression. While it was a great game for the veteran, expectations should be limited, as Watson was targeted five times or less in the first five games of the season. However, Brees has proven to feed the guys he can rely on, so maybe Thursday is just the beginning of something special.

BUY – Stefon Diggs – WR – Minnesota Vikings

While Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer will not commit to Diggs as the starting receiver along with Mike Wallace, the move is inevitable. Diggs has played in just two games this season, and he has been nothing short of spectacular. He hauled in six catches for 87 yards against Denver’s number one defense in the NFL and followed that up with seven catches for 129 yards against the Chiefs in Week 6. While Teddy Bridgewater isn’t exactly a gunslinger, it’s nice to see this kind of production in Diggs’ first two NFL games. Charles Johnson did not play in those games because of a rib injury, so we will see how the Vikings handle that situation when he returns. Diggs has outperformed Johnson so far this season in each of their “auditions” as the teams second starting receiver, potentially giving him the edge over Johnson.

BUY – Ahmad Bradshaw – RB – Indianapolis Colts

Bradshaw only had four carries for eight yards and just one catch for eight yards last week, so this has more to do with last season. But I believe Bradshaw could be a spark plug to the Colts offense moving forward. Bradshaw will now have a full week of practice and a full game under his belt as the Colts go up against the Saints, making him an intriguing option because of his success last season. Bradshaw, before injury in 2014, was towards the top of the running back rankings with the Colts just a year ago. If nothing else, he is probably sitting on your waiver wire and is worth taking a flier on for the remainder of the year, especially if your team needs a spark.

SELL – Lance Moore – WR – Detroit Lions

Lance Moore has been great in the last two games, hauling in 11 catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns. That’s more than the first four games of the season combined in catches, yards and touchdowns for the veteran receiver, so something has obviously changed. Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate are still in the lineup for the Lions, making Moore third in line for catches, making him an unlikely fantasy option moving forward. However, given Moore’s success WITH Johnson and Tate in the lineup, should one of them miss any time due to injury, Moore would become relevant.

SELL – Jeremy Hill – RB – Cincinnati Bengals

Jeremy Hill has been one of the biggest busts in fantasy this season. Although he has five touchdowns on the ground, two of them came in Week 1, and the other three came in Week 4. He has only eclipsed 50 yards in a game twice this season and has yet to reach 100 yards. Not only is Hill not doing much on the ground for the Bengals, but he has just three catches all season in the passing game. Giovani Bernard has been the better back in Cincy this year, and it hasn’t really been that close.
