Fantasy Baseball Daily Fix, August 3, 2012: Mike Olt’s Debut, Dan Straily Promoted
Torii Hunter had three hits and two RBIs for Los Angeles while Albert Pujols and Kendrys Morales each had two hits and two RBIs a piece.
Howie Kendrick and Alberto Callaspo also had two hits. And that was the losing team.
Ian Kinsler had three hits, two RBIs and scored four runs for Texas while Josh Hamilton had two hits and four RBIs. Elvis Andrus, Michael Young, and Geovany Soto each had two hits and so did Mitch Moreland and David Murphy off the bench.
All that overshadowed the anticipated debut of Mike Olt, who had a hit in his first major-league at-bat and scored a run.
That made for a long night for two good pitchers as C.J. Wilson and Ryan Dempster each gave up eight earned runs.
Josh Reddick had a nice bounce back for Oakland with two hits including a homer and two RBIs. Ageless Bartolo Colon threw eight scoreless for the A’s.
Jordan Pacheco is taking advantage of playing time at third for the Rockies and had three hits while Josh Rutledge continues to produce at shortstop with his fifth homer.
Eric Hosmer and Carlos Santana were early disappointments, but both had two hits with a homer.
Samuel Deduno was solid again on the mound for the Twins with six scoreless innings while Ross Detwiler threw seven scoreless for the Nats.
Chris Young gave up one run in seven for the Mets.
In daily fantasy leagues, I like Aramis Ramirez to continue his hot hitting against St. Louis.
With Olt and Straily recently called up, pay attention to the minor-league scores on milb.com to see who is the next hot prospect to arrive in the bigs.
