The Yankees are in a bit of a panic because Phil Hughes is more washed up than Lindsay Lohan.  I'm sure he will be staring as a one legged-stripper in a movie any day now.  

Jose Bautista is leading the American League in home runs and batting average. He is either the rare later bloomer or it is time to more closely analyze his test results.

In a rare role reversal, Tyson Ross of the Oakland A's out-dueled Danny Haren in the A's 2-1, victory.  It was Ross' best game of the season by far, but the 3 hit, one earned run performance was pretty much par for the course for Haren. 

The A’s, 2.78 and the Angels, 3.02 have the top team ERA’s by starters.

Andre Either extended his record April hitting streak to 24 games on Wednesday.

Chipper Jones added an other impressive line to his hall of fame resume by passing Micky Mantle to take sole possession of second place on the all-time home run list for switch hitters.  He now only trails Eddie Murray.

Bartolo Colon continues to prove that being heavy is just a frame of mind as he continued his resurgence with 8 innings of one run ball. With Phil Hughes limp arm, the Yankees need the girthy one now more than ever.

The Padres are 30th in runs, batting average and slugging percentage, it might be time to call up the entire Triple A club,  or at least the Chula Vista little league team that won the world series a couple years ago.  The only offense on that team right now is Ryan Ludwick, who had a nice week with a .324 average and 3 home runs.

Neftali Feliz should be able be okay after his DL stint.  He threw thirty pitches today and said he felt "strong."
