Today’s NBA daily fix features a couple players at each position that I highly recommend for today’s 10-game NBA slate on DraftKings. In addition to the two player breakdowns per position, I’ll add a few cheap risk options and tell you which ballers I am fading (not using) tonight. At the end I will list the top-5 players I’ll be using at each position in cash games tonight. Remember that this is written up in advance of any starting lineup or most inactive updates. Be sure to keep your eyes on Twitter and/or Rotoworld for updates that could change things in a big way. Good luck to you all and let’s get money tonight!
Point Guards:
Kemba Walker ($10,000) – Kemba has been on a TEAR! Just look at his game logs. He is playing 40 minutes a game, shooting the ball 25 times per game, and scoring over 30 points per game over his last five games. Kemba and the Hornets are going to be in a tough game, where Kemba should take 25-30 shots leading to 40+ fantasy points.
Jeff Teague ($8900) – Assuming the Hawks win tonight in Philadelphia, there win streak will be moved to ten. Their top player during this streak has been the up and coming star Jeff Teague. Teague, along with two of his teammates got a rest night against the Sixers, so he should be fully rested, and ready to play a lot of minutes against Boston.
Cheap risk plays: Corey Joseph ($5400) gets a nice matchup against the 28th ranked Charlotte Hornets. If Tony Parker sits, he is a very safe cash game play. If Parker plays Joseph is still a good GPP play. Patrick Beverly ($5300) also gets a great matchup against the rookie point guard Elfrid Payton. Beverly is underpriced for his recent productivity as a result of his high rebounding and assist rates. If Tony Parker plays, Beverly is a better play. If Parker sits, Joseph is the better play.
PGs I’m fading: Michael Carter-Williams, Brandon Jennings and Derrick Rose
Shooting Guards:
Monta Ellis ($7300) – I usually hate playing Monta Ellis in cash games, but over the last ten games he has not scored under 29 fantasy points. That is the kind of consistency I look for in cash games. You can lock in 30 fantasy points with Monta, and still have the huge “Monta Ellis upside”.
Arron Afflalo ($5800) – Double-A has also been surprisingly great over the last few games. Afflalo has been playing 40 minutes per game over his last 12 games, giving him lots of time to put up fantasy production. In recent games Afflalo, has been not only scoring a lot of points but actually rebounding the ball well, something that he has not been able to do in the past.
Cheap risk plays: Demar DeRozan ($6500) Demarvellous is not “cheap”. But he is way underpriced for his production in the last two years. Assuming he plays he is the ultimate GPP play. At a great price, Derozan will be low owned, in a great versus the Sixers. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($3900) KCP gets starters minutes at a really cheap price. The former UGA shooting guard draws a nice matchup and should be in for a great game. Lou Williams ($4700) is also a very good price play versus Philadelphia.
SGs I’m fading: James Harden, Bradley Beal and Gerald Henderson
Small Forwards:
Draymond Green ($8300) – Draymond continues to impress. In the toughest position to select players, Draymond continues to rack up assists, rebounds, and steals. On any given night, Draymond has a shot at a triple-double.
Nicolas Batum ($6000) – The Blazers should be in another high paced affair, and when Nic plays in those games he racks up the stats. Nic continues to underperform this year, but he is bound to break out sometime. He gets to face the 27th ranked defense against small forwards tonight, so tonight may be the night he scores 60 fantasy points.
Cheap risk plays: James Johnson ($4900) Since Tayshaun Prince was traded (held out) Johnson has played 35 and 36 minutes. At this price Johnson should be a lock to hit value, as he always seems to produce when he gets minutes. Matt Barnes ($4200) has been extremely consistent all season and draws a great matchup against Portland. He is a good price play at $4200.
SFs I’m fading: Chandler Parsons, Luol Deng, Wilson Chandler
Power Forwards:
Zach Randolph ($7300) – Since coming back from injury, Z-Bo has put up an average of 44 points per game. Z-Bo always has an insane rebound rate and gets to go up against the lowly Brooklyn interior defense. Expect a nice game out of Randolph.
Dirk Nowitzki ($6600) – Dirk is underpriced at $6600 as he still averages 19 points per game, and six rebounds per game. Dirk has been playing consistent minutes even with his old age, and he draws one of the top matchups for big men versus the Nuggets.
Cheap risk plays: Jae Crowder ($4600) has been playing starters minutes since the Jeff Green trade went through. Jae does a little bit of everything on the stats sheet, and if he starts he is a great value. Donatas Motiejunas ($5200) Since Donatas joined the starting lineup he has been a beast. The European has a high upside for his price, but also has a very low floor. He is a great GPP player.
PFs I’m fading: LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan, Cody Zeller
Centers:
Al Horford ($6600) – All of the top centers tonight are either in tough matchups or are on cold streaks. At $6.6k Al is an absolutely amazing play at the center position. He is coming off of a triple-double game, and draws a great matchup. Big Al is a much better option today than any other center on the board.
Al Horford ($6600) – Al Horford is also my second center. He is in too good of a matchup against Boston and is too underpriced to not play him in your cash games. I am officially on the Al Horford Bandwagon.
Cheap risk plays: I’m looking to play Horford in all of my lineups, including GPPs, but Hassan Whiteside ($5700) has shown that he has a very high upside. J.J Hickson ($4500) is another cheap center that has huge upside for GPPs.
Cs I’m fading: Everyone not named Al Horford, Marc Gasol, Brook Lopez or Mason Plumlee.
