2011 Fantasy Baseball Daily Fix: Andrew McCutchen Is Stealing Bags & Fantasy Owner's Hearts

Kansas City Royals’ rookie Eric Hosmer put on a show in the 14 inning marathon in Texas last night. The slugging first basemen finished the night 4-for-7, with a double, a round tripper, two runs scored and a career high four runs batted in. Thus far, nine of Hosmer’s 23 hits have been for extra bases.

Sam Fuld Fun: The first 10,000 kids ages 14 and under to enter the Trop on Sunday for the Tampa Bay Rays’ game will receive a “Super Sam Fuld” cape.

Look at Johnny Damon sporting the cape to the left.  Sam was pretty super last night in a 5-0 Rays' victory over the Indians. Fuld finished 2-for-4 with a round tripper, two runs batted in and a run scored.

Oh, and that David Price guy had a career high 12K's last night too. He's now 6-4 on the season.

Andrew McCutchen swiped two more bags last night to give him nine on the year. McCutchen is toting an unlucky .259 BABIP, which is on the rise in May. He is bound to improve, so look for him to be a serious 20/30 threat with an average that settles in the .280 range. The window to buy is closing, so buy any stock of McCutchen while you can.

Although Brandon Belt was recalled, it seems as if manager Bruce Bochy will be using him off the bench and in double switches. In 31 games at AAA Fresno, Belt batted .337 and played mostly outfield. Watch list him for now.

Sadly, only 12,110 people attended the Baltimore Orioles at Oakland Athletics last night, a FRIDAY NIGHT!?!  Good thing the A’s acquired Scott Sizemore yesterday, he’ll be sure to put fans in the stands.

Brandon Crawford collected his first MLB hit last night off Shaun Marcum, a GRAND SLAM in the seventh inning. Great for the kid, but he doesn’t quite carry any fantasy relevance at the moment.

Andrew Bailey is on the mend for the Athletics who has been on the DL with a strained forearm. Bailey made his fourth appearance at AAA Sacramento last night and will be gently eased back into the closers role once he’s activated. Bailey is owned in 82% of Y! leagues.

Michael Morse of the Nationals went 2-for-4 with a moon shot last night. He’s now hit home runs in four consecutive games. Morse has raised his BA 72 points, up to .288, since the beginning of May. Morse carries multiple position eligibility (1B, OF) in Y! leagues, and is currently rostered in just 19% of them.

Justin Turner of the Mets continues to rake in the absence of David Wright. In Friday’s loss to the Phillies, Turner went 4-for-5 with a two-bagger and knocked in a run. The kid is hitting at a .388 clip since May 7th.

Brandon League (13), Jordan Walden (11), Brian Wilson (14), JJ Putz (15), Ryan Madson (10), Jon Rauch (6) and Joel Hanrahan (14) each earned saves last night.
