RP – TIM COLLINS (KANSAS CITY) The 21-year old 5' 7" lefty is fun to watch pitch and can bring a 93-96 mph fastball. He owns a 2-0 record with 22 strike outs in only 18 innings pitched. As of right now Tim is only a middle reliever but he does have closer capability. Keep an eye on him as the season continues. 

RP – KENLEY JANSEN ( L.A. DODGERS) Jansen is the future closer for the Dodgers. Jonathan Broxton is hurt again, Vincente Padilla and Hong Chi Kuo (four elbow surgeries) are not the answer. Jansen is listed at 6'5", 257 lbs and reminds me of Lee Smith. He has been relatively shaky in his brief major league career, but he does possess lights out stuff as he has struck out 25 batters in only 14 innings. He is the closer in waiting. 

1B – ERIC HOSMER (KANSAS CITY) The much heralded slugger made his season debut last week for the Royal's replacing another rookie Kila Ka'aihue. Hosmer who started all three games over the weekend against Oakland is currently batting.333 with one RBI and a stolen base. It appears the Royal's are committed to him and the potential is there for solid numbers. I recommend tempering your expectations though because of the deep field of first baseman and the learning curve the rookie will most likely suffer through. 

SS – JOSE IGLESIAS (BOSTON) Jose (no relation to Enrique) got the call up Sunday to replace Marco Scutaro who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Jose is known as a "defensive specialist" and really adds nothing to your fantasy team. In his brief minor league experience in 348 AB's he has zero home runs and only 24 RBI's. You may see some hype on his call up but please do not get pulled into the fire. 

OF – BRANDON GUYER (TAMPA BAY) Guyer who homered in his first major league at bat has already been sent back down to Durham where he has six home runs already. Brandon who originally was drafted by the Cubs was involved in the Matt Garza trade this off season. Manager Joe Maddon says that he likes Guyer and he will definitely be part of the future plans in Tampa. Keep an eye on the Rays OF injury situation this year for the possibility of a recall of Guyer. It certainly looks like he can help your team in the power number category. 

OF – DOMONIC BROWN (PHILADELPHIA) Brown was just activated from the disabled list after missing the entire season so far with a broken hand. The Phillies will start him at the AAA level and eventually work him up to the big club. Brown has all the tools and will eventually be a star at the MLB level. Helping his cause is the fact that everyday Philly outfielders Raul Ibanez (.222) and Ben Francisco (.232) are doing absolutely nothing. I see a very soon call up for Brown and a bright future ahead. If you have room on your roster now stash him and wait it out. 

2011 HARPER WATCH
BRYCE HARPER (HAGERSTOWN A) The 18-year old Harper continues to pulverize pitching at the A ball level in Hagerstown. His season stats after 29 games are .376/7/24 with five stolen bases and a 1.115 OPS. Bryce has proven he can play at any level he’s has been placed in. National’s manager Jim Riggleman has been quoted as saying that Harper will not play in the majors this year and that the franchise would like him to be eased into each level of play. I think it’s time he gets to the big show. Washington will sell a ton of tickets and what do they have to lose?
