2012 Fantasy Football, Week 12 Tight End Rankings: Jermaine Gresham Cracks Top 5

Jermaine Gresham

PLEASE NOTE : Rankings listed below do not include Thursday’s game players.

1) JIMMY GRAHAM (SF)- Graham’s targets and yardage is down this year but they are still good enough to make him my top tight end. This week he faces a pretty good niner defense. I like him for one score and about 6070 yards receiving.

2) TONY GONZALEZ ( TBAY)- Gonzo has been slowed considerably since his hot start in the season’s first few weeks. With the exception of Week 10 he has been pretty much mediocre at best. This week he gets a Tampa defense who has given up a touchdown to the opposing tight end in four of their last five games. I expect one score and low yardage numbers.

3) VERNON DAVIS (@NO)- Colin Kaepernick will start once again in this game which may be just what Davis needs to continue to be included back in the San Fran offense. Last Monday night Davis lead the team with eight targets a touchdown and 80+ yards receiving with Kaepernick under center.

4) JERMAINE GRESHAM (OAK)- The Raiders cant stop anyone so this one is a easy call to make.In his last three games, Gresham is averaging five receptions and 64 yards per game. He should post solid numbers on Sunday.

5) BRANDON MYERS (@CINN)- Myers has turned into a targets machine for the Raiders especially around the red zone. The other reason being that Oakland usually finds themselves down in the contest so passing becomes the only option for them.

6) ANTONIO GATES (BLT)- Gates is clearly on the downward side of his career and is becoming tougher and tougher to predict his fantasy value. This week the Chargers should be running the ball against a team that struggles big time against the run. Philip Rivers will take his shots down field which gives Gates an outside chance at a score.

7) JERMICHAEL FINLEY (@NYG)- Finley has arrived back on the scene for the Packers as he scored a touchdown and finished the game with decent receiving numbers last week at Detroit. This week the Pack will open things up on a reeling Giants team which should bode well for all receivers in Aaron Rodgers offense.

8) JOEL DRESSEN (@KC)- Being a receiver in a Peyton Manning lead offense is a good thing which is why Dressen gets the nod here. He has a higher chance to score than other tight end's similarly ranked. He is a decent gamble if your hurting at the position.

9) JARED COOK (@JAX)- Cook lit up the Jags the last time he faced them in Jacksonville. Jared went off for a 55-yard touchdown in that game and finished with a career-high 169 yards and eight catches. Cook has 14 catches for 226 yards with a score in his last five games against the Jaguars overall.

10) BRENT CELEK (CAR)- With rookie QB Nick Foles under center last week Brent saw quite a boost in his targets as he received eight in the game. He finished with a five catch 42 yard performance.

11) GREG OLSEN
12) SCOTT CHANDLER
13) KYLE RUDOLPH
14) MARTELLUS BENNETT
15) DWAYNE ALLEN
16) HEATH MILLER
17) JACOB TAMME
18) DALLAS CLARK
19) MARCEDES LEWIS
20) TONY MOEAKI
