2012 Fantasy Football, Week 7 Gold Mine: Felix Jones Fills In For DeMarco Murray
Felix Jones
I was another crazy week, as home teams mostly dominated the schedule, and several games went down to the wire. But, if you’re asking me, the Packers’ explosion against the Texans arguably took the cake.
But in the fantasy realm, there were several performances that really caught my eye. See who made this week’s list and could be waiver wire gold heading into week seven:
Josh Freeman | QB | Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Available in 61% of leagues)
Not only did Freeman go off in week six (328 yds and 3 TD), but he has a very nice immediate schedule on the docket. This could be fool’s gold, but something tells me Freeman is just scratching the surface of a mid-season turnaround.
Felix Jones | RB | Dallas Cowboys (84%)
Jones was getting carries even before DeMarco Murray went down in week six, and looked very good en route to 100+ total yards and a score. If Murray is hindered or misses any time (foot), Jones would have some nice value all of a sudden. If he wasn’t a handcuff before, he certainly is now.
William Powell | RB | Arizona Cardinals (68%)
I loved how hard Powell ran in week six, but was more impressed with how effective he actually was. He should continue to get a solid load as long as he can produce, and he needs to be owned in all leagues.
Josh Gordon | WR | Cleveland Browns (88%)
Three scores in two games, big play ability and a starting gig tells me Gordon isn’t a flash in the pan. He plays in Cleveland and is a rookie, but he continues to show real talent and carries potential into every matchup. He’s a risk due to limited targets, but he’s a threat every week going forward.
Brandon Gibson | WR | St. Louis Rams (80%)
Danny Amendola (collarbone) is slated to miss another 5-6 weeks, so it’s a good thing Sam Bradford found his new #1 WR. Gibson appears to be up to the job after hauling in seven balls for 91 yards in week six, and needs to be looked at in all leagues.
