Buster Posey Injury Update, Chase Utley Goes Yard & Other Daily Fantasy News

Things can change so quickly from night to morning. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Buster Posey could miss 6-8 weeks as opposed to earlier reports which had him out for the season. Check out our fantasy replacement article if you missed it.

The good news is that Chase Utley hit his first home run of the season. The bad news is that he is 2-14 since his return.

Cliff Lee got his 2nd straight win, but in unimpressive fashion. The Reds scored 4 runs off of 10 hits. Lee’s WHIP is higher than normal and has already given up 16 walks compared to 18 all of last year. At least he is striking out players left and right, as he shares the MLB lead with his buddy Roy Halladay.

Howie Kendrick was officially placed on the 15-Day DL. Get him in that DL spot and pick up a replacement if you haven’t already.

The Giants recalled shortstop Brandon Crawford, who has shown some power. Keep an eye on him and maybe you can ride a little rookie streak.

Kelly Johnson is en fuego right now. Over the last  7 games he is hitting .346 with 3 dingers and 10 RBI.

For the 2nd straight day the Red Sox scored 14 runs, this time coming against the Tigers. In the last two, they have outscored the Indians & Tigers 28-3. Whatever happened to the mercy rule? In the ruckus, Carl Crawford collected another 4 hits, this time 2 for triples. In the last 2 games he his 8-9 with 5 runs & 5 RBI.

Brett Anderson threw a gem against the Angels last night, going 8 innings and only give up  3 hits.

Anibal Sanchez one-upped Brett Anderson's performance and pitched a complete game shutout over the Giants. Sanchez has been relatively close to lights out this season and even with an early season blowup against the Astros, he still owns a 2.60 ERA. He may just be siphoning Josh Johnson's mojo when he isn't looking…

Even though Ryan Vogelsong received the loss to Sanchez, he too pitched a strong game only giving up one run, which was his first in the last 4 games.

Today has a few pitching duels that I will be closely watching: Tim Lincecum @Shaun Marcum, AJ Burnett @Michael Pineda & Josh Tomlin @David Price
