Usually your birthday brings joy and a handful of shout-outs on Facebook. Brandon Belt’s 23rd birthday though wasn’t the happy kind though. Belt got demoted to Triple-A Fresno after hitting .192 with one home run. Happy freaking birthday!

Mike Leake on the other hand somewhat redeemed his humiliating week after being arrested for shoplifting. Leake won his third game of the season against Arizona Thursday. Most people who comit retail theft aren’t in a very good financial situation which is why they take the risk but for Leake to shoplift when he’s on such a high salary is ridiculous. If you have been caught shoplifting like Leake then you might want to get legal help from someone like these philadelphia criminal lawyers. Hopefully, Leake can keep up this winning streak and people will forget about the whole shoplifting situation.

Albert Pujols continues to dial it up after a poor start to the year. He hit his 6th home run of the season and the fifth in the last seven games. Last year’s MVP, Joey Votto, only hit his 3rd home run but is batting a whopping .418, good for 2nd in the majors only behind Matt Kemp.

After a strong start, sophomore Logan Morrison was placed on the 15-day DL with a sprain and strain in his left foot. Logan was hitting .327 with four home runs and 11 RBI.

Besides 2008 (15-6, 3.78 ERA), Kyle Lohse’s first ten season’s were subpar at best. 2011 has started better than anyone could have imagined though, as Lohse pitched a complete game 2-hitter against Washington. He is now 3-1 with a 2.01 ERA and .73 WHIP.

Buster Posey was outshined by his sister Samantha. In a double header this week, Posey who plays for Valdosta State’s softball team hit for the Home Run Cycle and drove in 11 runs.

Clayton Kershaw looked en route to his 3rd win over Atlanta and a huge bounceback up until the ninth when he got into trouble. Luckily for Kershaw owners, he didn’t get the loss and the Dodgers won in 12. Overall it was a great improvement after getting hammered by St. Louis last week and only lasting 4.2 innings.

Felix Hernandez proved why he is an elite pitcher Thursday. King Felix held the A’s to just four hits and won his second game against the Athletics so far. After two subpar games against Kansas & Toronto, Felix looks to be back on track. In the same game the A’s Brandon McCarthy pitched his fourth solid outing of the season. He went eight solid innings and only gave up four hits as well, but an Adam Kennedy home run in the fourth proved to be the difference maker to give McCarthy the loss. He is only owned in 11.5% of ESPN leagues right now. Get him while he’s hot!

Although still in last place, the Red Sox have pulled things together this last week going 6-4 and are only four games behind the Yankees.

Mets’ Jason Bay made his first appearance of the 2011 season going 1-4. If the Mets want to get out of last place they will greatly need his bat.
