Slap Shot Podcast Episode 13: Mental Health and Hockey

This is a special mental health episode of Slap Shot Podcast. In this episode, I talk about my struggles with mental illness and how I was able to get the help I needed to live a better life.

Hockey was an important part of it. Without hockey, I don’t know where I would be today. Some people think it’s just a game, but for me, it was everything.

In this episode, I share some strategies that worked for me when I was feeling depressed. It may not work for you, but you’ll never know until you give it a try.

Finally, if you ever feel alone, please know you can always reach out to me directly. I can’t solve your problems, but I can listen to them and guide you to the right place. Sometimes all we need in life is someone to listen. Never forget the important words that changed my life: If it’s important to you, then it’s important to me.

I wrote about the day I decided to take control of my depression over at SickNotWeak. If you are interested in reading it, just follow the link here.
